Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Chris Bassitt was excellent on the mound during Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Bassitt had little issues in this game as he struck out 10 batters while allowing only three hits across five scoreless innings on Wednesday. He exited the game after 90 pitches, but did enough in this one to earn himself the win. The rest of the bullpen picked up where Bassitt left off as they recorded a franchise record 19 strikeouts during Wednesday's game. Bassitt has been unbelievable early in the season with only two earned runs across four starts. He's going to be a popular waiver wire addition after this outing.

New York Yankees starting pitcher Clarke Schmidt took the mound for the first time this season for a matchup against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. It wasn't a great start from Schmidt, but he got the job done. He went 5 2/3 innings, allowing four hits, three earned runs, and striking out two batters in the no-decision. The Yankees didn't push him too hard in this one as Schmidt only threw 73 pitches during this outing. He missed the first few weeks of the season due to a shoulder issue, so it wouldn't be shocking to see the Yankees ease him back into things. His next start will come against the Cleveland Guardians next week. Schmidt isn't a must-have fantasy option, but could help fantasy managers who are lacking talent in the pitching department.

Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar (hip) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It sounds like the Rockies are taking the cautious approach and pulling Tovar out of the lineup due to left hip pain. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, but the Rockies should give another update on his status shortly. In the meantime, Kyle Farmer will cover shortstop and bat cleanup versus right-hander Bobby Miller. The veteran utility man has been one of the few bright spots in this Colorado lineup early in the season.

Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider took the mound in a big league game for the first time since last April. The right-hander looked solid as he struck out five batters, allowing two runs on five hits over five innings of work. Strider surprisingly came out for the sixth inning, but was quickly pulled from the contest after running into some trouble. Fantasy managers didn't get great results from Strider, but he might need a few starts to shake off some rust. His next start will come against the St. Louis Cardinals next week. Strider is a must-start going forward considering he's one of the best pitchers in all of baseball.

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. somehow didn't have a home run entering Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Guerrero struck out in his first at-bat, but finally joined the home run club later in the game. He blasted a 412-foot home run off stud right-hander Spencer Strider in the sixth inning of Wednesday's contest. Guerrero would finish his day 2-for-3 with a walk, home run, and two RBI in the win. He's currently slashing .292/.373/.389 with one homer and 10 RBI. Fantasy managers are hopeful Guerrero will start blasting more long balls.
