Will Smith Resting In Series Finale Against Rockies

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith will start on the bench in Wednesday's series finale against the division-rival Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium. Austin Barnes will do the catching for right-hander Bobby Miller and will hit in the nine-hole against Rockies right-hander German Marquez. The 30-year-old Smith remains one of the best hitting catchers in baseball and has been proving it early on in 2025, slashing .367/.475/.551 with a 1.026 OPS, two home runs, 12 RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base in 49 total at-bats. He hit his second homer in Tuesday's 6-2 win. He's been especially hot the last three games, going 6-for-12 with a homer and five runs driven in. Although Barnes has hit .286 with a homer and three RBI in 14 career at-bats against Marquez, he'll have little DFS upside at the bottom of the batting order on Wednesday.

Landon Knack Optioned To Triple-A

The Los Angeles Dodgers have optioned right-handed pitcher Landon Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers have promoted right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller to the major leagues. Knack has made three appearances for the Dodgers this season (two starts) and logged eight 2/3 innings to the tune of a 7.27 ERA and a 1.73 WHIP. During this brief stint, Knack has struck out seven batters and served up six free passes. Fantasy managers should expect Knack to be in the mix to return to the majors later in the summer when the Dodgers need additional depth in the majors. Last summer, Knack was effective in his MLB debut, tossing 69 innings with a 3.65 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. Knack is not worth rostering in any formats while he is with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Teoscar Hernandez Back From Illness On Wednesday

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez (illness) is back in right field and is hitting cleanup for Wednesday's series finale against the division-rival Colorado Rockies and veteran right-hander German Marquez. Hernandez was feeling under the weather and missed the first two games of the series against Colorado, but he'll return for the finale and should be reinserted into fantasy lineups. The 32-year-old put up a career year in 2024 in his first year in Hollywood and also won a World Series ring. As long as he stays healthy, he should be plenty productive hitting in the heart of one of the most stacked lineups in baseball. In 17 games so far in 2025, he's hit .281 (18-for-64) with five home runs, three doubles, 16 RBI and two stolen bases for his fantasy managers. Hernandez has never faced Marquez in his career.

Brenton Doyle Still Not Ready To Return

Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (quadriceps) will miss his sixth straight game in Wednesday's series finale against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers. Doyle continues to recover from left-quadriceps soreness, but with a day off on Thursday, his fantasy managers will be hoping that he'll be feeling good enough to return to the field for Friday's series opener against the Washington Nationals. But if the 26-year-old is unable to go on Friday or at some point over the weekend, this could turn into an injured-list situation. The former fourth-rounder is a fantasy stud when healthy and is currently batting .321 (17-for-53) with three home runs, 12 RBI, a steal and seven runs scored. Doyle is a must-start in fantasy if he's active. Mickey Moniak is starting in center field and is hitting seventh on Wednesday against Dodgers right-hander Bobby Miller, who is making his first MLB start of 2025.

Hunter Dobbins Could Start On Friday

Boston Red Sox pitching prospect Hunter Dobbins could get the starting nod on Friday evening when the Red Sox host the Chicago White Sox. Dobbins made his MLB debut earlier in April and tossed five innings of two-run ball against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 6. In this outing, Dobbins allowed eight hits, two walks, and struck out five. Manager Alex Cora noted that there is a "good chance" Dobbins gets the call. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Friday's contest. On MLB Pipeline, Dobbins is considered the No. 14-ranked prospect in the Boston system. He has also spent time with Triple-A Worcester this season and allowed eight runs in six 2/3 innings. If he does get the call for Friday's match, he would be worth a look as a streaming option in deep formats in a favorable matchup.
