Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. will head to the bench for Thursday's series finale against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. Michael Taylor will start in center field and will bat eighth against Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams. Robert could probably use the day off, as he was hitless in his five plate appearances on Wednesday and has gone just 6-for-39 (.154) with a double, RBI, three steals, three runs scored, five walks and 13 strikeouts in his first 11 games in 2025. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried just yet, but hopefully the 27-year-old slugger can begin to pick things up this weekend for a series at home against the visiting Boston Red Sox. Taylor has gone just 3-for-17 in the early going with a homer, two RBI and a stolen base in eight games played. He'll be a weak DFS option, and he's never faced Williams in his career.

Houston Astros third base/outfield prospect Cam Smith is beginning to turn the corner in the majors. After tallying just two hits across his first six contests, Smith began to see his playing time decrease. However, Smith has tallied at least one hit in each of the previous two contests, including a triple on Tuesday. In addition, Smith has tallied at least one RBI in each contest. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his development in the majors as the Astros may continue to slightly limit his playing if he can't show consistency. Smith was the headliner piece in the Kyle Tucker trade in the offseason. The Cubs selected Smith with the 14th overall pick in last year's MLB Draft. Smith was able to make the MLB roster out of camp. Fantasy managers in deeper formats should continue to hold Smith on their roster.

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Lane Thomas (wrist) remains out of the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against the division-rival Chicago White Sox at Progressive Field. Thomas was hit by a pitch on his right wrist in the team's home opener on Tuesday and will miss his second straight game with a contusion. The 29-year-old is day-to-day and should be able to return at some point this weekend against the division-rival Kansas City Royals. Along with the injury, Thomas has gotten off to a rough start with only five hits in his first 33 plate appearances for Cleveland with eight strikeouts in eight games played. Nolan Jones is in center field again and is batting fifth, while Jhonkensy is starting in right and hitting sixth on Thursday against White Sox right-hander Jonathan Cannon. Jones has a homer and two RBI in two career at-bats against Cannon, while Noel is hitless in two career at-bats against him.

The Los Angeles Angels placed third baseman Yoan Moncada (thumb) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a right-thumb sprain and recalled infielder J.D. Davis from the minors in a corresponding move, according to the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher. Left-hander Jack Dashwood was designated for assignment to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Davis. Moncada initially injured his thumb in spring training before aggravating it on a swing last Friday night. The 29-year-old returned to the lineup on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays but suffered another setback and will now miss at least another 10 days. The fact that his thumb injury has lingered probably means it won't be a minimum stay on the IL. Luis Rengifo is starting at third for Thursday's series finale against Tampa and should see most of the playing time there moving forward. Moncada should be on the waiver wire in most mixed fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Thomas Harrington was optioned to Triple-A on Thursday. The Pirates promoted Harrington on April 1 but were only able to appear in two games during his first brief taste of the major leagues. He was given the starting nod in his first outing on April 1 and allowed seven hits and six earned runs across four innings to the Tampa Bay Rays. In his other appearance, Harrington was deployed out of the bullpen and tossed four innings of three-run ball en route to earning a save. In this game, he held a 1:5 BB:K and allowed four hits. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his production at Triple-A as he should be in the mix to return to the big leagues later in the season, when the Pirates need additional pitching depth. Last season at Triple-A, Harrington posted a 3.33 ERA with a 0.93 WHIP across 46 innings of work.
