Hyeseong Kim Stuffs The Stat Sheet On Tuesday At Triple-A

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Hyeseong Kim went 3-for-6 with a double, three RBI, three runs scored, and two stolen bases for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday. It was the left-handed hitter's third multi-hit game in his last three games, now slashing .308/.386/.487 with six extra-base hits, nine RBI, 10 runs scored, and four stolen bases through nine games. It was a bit of a surprise to see the offseason acquisition optioned to Triple-A towards the end of spring training after inking a three-year contract, but the Dodgers felt he needed more development. While he came over as an infielder, the 26-year-old was playing center field on Tuesday, so it looks like the Dodgers are trying to make him more versatile, which should give him additional paths to playing time. Kim should make his MLB debut this season and was known for elite contact skills in Japan, so fantasy managers should keep an eye on his progression as he could provide an instant boost to batting average and steals whenever he gets the call to the majors. He is currently eligible at 2B and SS on Yahoo!, but could eventually gain OF eligibility if L.A. gives him some starts there in the big leagues.

James Wood Hits Two Homers, Plates Five Tuesday

Washington Nationals designated hitter James Wood had his second consecutive strong offensive game in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Dodgers. Wood went 3-for-4 with a single, a pair of two-run home runs, five RBI, and a walk. The 22-year-old got things started with a first-inning shot over the left-center wall against Justin Wrobleski, and he took Wroblenski into the right-field seats in the fourth inning. Wood has three HR in his last two games and is off to a solid offensive start overall, slashing .275/.356/.625 with four HR, 10 RBI, and two stolen bases in 45 plate appearances. The Nationals may not be the most competitive offensive team this season, but Wood should be poised to provide plenty of fantasy value, especially if he can keep his power swing going.

Caleb Durbin Continues To Hit At Triple-A

Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect Caleb Durbin went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored for Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, bringing his hit streak to six games while hitting safely in seven of eight. The former 14th-round draft pick is slashing .294/.333/.559 with two home runs and one stolen base to begin the year. He looked primed to make the Brewers' Opening Day roster after a strong spring showing, but was ultimately sent to Triple-A for more seasoning. With Brice Turang entrenched at second base and hitting well, Durbin's path to playing time is through shortstop or third base. Notably, Durbin was at third base on Tuesday, so it could be six-home run spring training star Vinny Capra who could be on the hot seat after an 0-for-4 night for the Brewers dropped his BA to .130. Whenever Durbin does get the call, he could be a significant source of stolen bases and is eligible at 2B, 3B, and SS on Yahoo!, giving him some added fantasy appeal.

Zebby Matthews Strikes Out Nine In Latest Triple-A Start

Minnesota Twins pitching prospect Zebby Matthews went five innings for Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, allowing two earned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out nine batters. It was the second start of the young season for the 24-year-old, now having allowed two earned runs in 10 innings pitched (1.80 ERA) on five hits, one walk, and totaling 13 strikeouts. Known for displaying impeccable command, the 6-foot-5 hurler has continued to limit the free passes this season while producing strong strikeout numbers. For his minor league career, the former eighth-round draft pick owns a 2.7 percent walk rate and a 29.0 percent strikeout rate. The righty made nine starts last season for the Twins, and although he was much more hittable, he still produced a solid 18.1 percent K-BB%. Look for Matthews to get the call sometime in May, if not sooner, and fantasy managers in deep leagues may want to consider stashing him ahead of time.

Moises Ballesteros Picking Up Where He Left Off Last Season

Chicago Cubs catching prospect Moises Ballesteros went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base on Tuesday for Triple-A Iowa. It was the diminutive backstop's third multi-hit performance in seven games so far this season, now slashing .300/.344/.433 on the season, seemingly picking up right where he left off last season. He hasn't hit a home run yet after belting 19 last season, but with two steals in 2025, he's already surpassed last season's total. Unlike last season, however, the left-handed hitter doesn't have an apparent path to at-bats with both major league catchers hitting well, as is the Cubs' DH and first baseman, which would have been his alternatives. Nevertheless, the Venezuelan has hit at every stop in the minors and usually against pitchers much older than him. Still only 21, expect the Cubs fourth-ranked prospect to debut sometime in 2025 and could be viable for fantasy if he somehow earns regular at-bats.
