James Wood Goes Yard in Washington's Win on Wednesday

Washington Nationals outfielder James Wood went 2-for-4 with three RBI and his 15th home run of the season on Wednesday night in his team's 9-0 rout of the Mariners in Seattle. Wood's home run was a solo shot in the fifth inning against Mariners starter George Kirby. He later walked and stole a base in the seventh inning to provide even more fantasy goodness for his managers and is up to eight stolen bases on the year. In his first full season in the majors, he's hitting .287 through 55 games and has locked in recently with a 100% hard-hit rate and 50% barrel rate over his last four games with three home runs and a .558 wOBA in that small sample size. He's a must-play in all formats with so much power potential and his solid average and speed numbers make him even more valuable.

James Wood Drives in Three Runs Thursday

Washington Nationals young star James Wood went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs scored, and two walks in Washington's 8-7 extra-inning win against the Atlanta Braves. Wood has been blistering hot at the plate of late, slashing .529/.609/.765 over his last seven days. Thursday was no different, and he played a huge role in sparking the Nationals' comeback win over the Braves. Wood is slashing .291/.389/.545 on the season with 12 home runs, 33 RBI, 32 runs scored, 12 doubles, and seven stolen bases. He is breaking out in his sophomore campaign, and fantasy managers don't have to hesitate whether or not to keep him in their lineups. Next up for Wood is a three-game series in San Francisco as the Nationals take on the Giants.

James Wood Clubs 12th Homer in Win Over Orioles

Washington Nationals outfielder James Wood stayed hot at the plate in Friday's 4-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards, going 2-for-4 with a single, his 12th home run of the season, two RBI, and two strikeouts as the designated hitter out of the three-hole. Wood has been very productive for his fantasy managers in his first full season in the big leagues, hitting .273/.366/.540 with a .906 OPS, 12 homers, 11 doubles, 27 RBI, 25 runs scored and five stolen bases in 46 games played. The 22-year-old's home run in the eighth inning was a big one, as it tied the score up at three apiece in the eventual win. Wood now has 11 multi-hit games on the year and has improved in the month of May, hitting .317/.379/.533 with three home runs, six RBI and two steals in 66 plate appearances.
