Chayce McDermott Racks Up 12 More K's For Triple-A Norfolk

Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Chayce McDermott put together a strong performance on Monday for Triple-A Norfolk. McDermott tossed seven innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits with three walks and a career-high 12 strikeouts. McDermott's 12 strikeouts push his season total to 121 in 83 innings. Walks have been an issue for the right-hander this season, but his ability to strikeout opposing batters has saved him in many situations and helped him keep a steady 3.58 ERA for the season. With fellow pitching prospect Cade Povich already on the big-league roster, McDermott could be next in line, should the Orioles need an arm for their rotation. McDermott is worth rostering in dynasty leagues, but due to his high WHIP of 1.40, he would be more of a streaming option in redraft leagues, specifically for strikeouts.

Haydn McGeary On Power Surge

Chicago Cubs first base prospect Haydn McGeary continued his power surge on Monday for Double-A Tennessee. McGeary went 2-for-4 with a walk and solo home run. The home run would be his fourth in his last three games as McGeary continues to swing a red-hot bat. For the season, McGeary is now hitting .216 with 10 home runs, 36 RBI and four stolen bases. McGeary shows good plate discipline at the dish and his large 6'6 frame has provided him with some of the best power in the Cubs system. Despite the Cubs offensive woes, McGeary doesn't project to be a name in the big-league conversation until next season.

Ky Bush To Be Promoted To Triple-A

The Chicago White Sox are set to promote pitching prospect Ky Bush to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. Bush, 24, was acquired from the Los Angeles Angels last season as part of the Lucas Giolito deal. The left-hander has been dealing this season for Double-A Birmingham with a 2.12 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 14 starts this season in a career-year. Bush is the club's No. 17 prospect per MLB Pipeline and has looked like a steal with the way he has thrown the ball this season. With the White Sox likely to deal off the little talent that they have at the big-league level, Bush could be an option later this summer. For now, he only holds value in dynasty leagues.

Max Clark Opens July With Home Run For Single-A Lakeland

Detroit Tigers outfield prospect Max Clark went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI for Single-A Lakeland on Monday. The Tigers' top overall prospect is hitting .269 with five homers and 48 RBI for Lakeland this season with 23 stolen bases. At just 19 years old, Clark is turning in a nice season at Single-A. One of the most promising prospects in baseball is showing off his all-around potential with his bat and his legs on the basepaths. As Clark continues to mature and get stronger, the power should continue to develop. He has the potential to be a future five-category contributor in fantasy. He should still be a few years away from making an impact in Detroit, but he could make a quick progression through the minor leagues.

Jackson Holliday Hits First Homer At Triple-A Since Return From Injury

Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Jackson Holliday (elbow) crushed a home run for Triple-A Norfolk on Monday. It was the first home run for baseball's top overall prospect since he returned from the injured list on June 25. Holliday is hitting .268 at Norfolk this season with eight homers and 29 RBI in 55 games. The second baseman/shortstop has recorded a .434 on-base percentage and .902 OPS at Triple-A so far. The numbers have been good as Holliday attempts to regain confidence and make a return to Baltimore. His early-season struggles in the majors were well-documented but he has the talent to return and make an impact in the Orioles' lineup this season given the opportunity.
