Justyn-Henry Malloy Homers On Sunday

Detroit Tigers outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy had a nice game on Sunday, going 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI in a 7-6 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Malloy smacked a two-run shot in the fourth inning to add some insurance to the Tigers lead, and they would need every run they got in this one. While Malloy has had some bright spots in his rookie season, the 24-year-old has had trouble adjusting to the majors overall and is slashing just .175/.274/.349 with three homers in 63 at-bats. He will need to show a lot more before becoming fantasy-relevant.

Brandon Nimmo Homers Again On Sunday

New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo continued his torrid stretch on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with a homer, two runs scored, and three RBI. The homer tied the game in the seventh for the Mets, but they were unable to take advantage and ended up losing 10-5 to the Houston Astros. Despite this result, the Mets have been on a roll lately, and in large part that is due to Nimmo finding his game. The lefty is now hitting .315 with 24 runs, six homers, 21 RBI, and a stolen base in June. His expected stats have been awesome all year and his fantasy numbers are starting to follow. Outfielders haven't had a great year as a whole this season, so selling high on Nimmo might not be the best course of action unless an offer is too good to resist.

Freddy Peralta Dominates Cubs For Sixth Win

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta was excellent on Sunday, throwing seven innings of one-run ball in a 7-1 win over the Chicago Cubs. Peralta allowed a lead-off homer to Nico Hoerner but gave up just one hit and two walks after that, striking out eight in the process. It's been a bit of a roller coaster season for the 28-year-old, with fantasy managers (and the Brewers themselves) not knowing what he's going to do in any given start. All in all, though, it's been a pretty nice season, as Peralta has a 6-4 record with a 3.83 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 120 strikeouts in 94 IP. He should be viewed as a must-start given his upside.

Gerrit Cole Bounces Back With First Win

New York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole looked like his old self on Sunday, tossing five solid innings against the Toronto Blue Jays and picking up the win in an 8-1 victory. Cole allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out six. Maybe more importantly, his fastball velocity was up to 96mph and topped out at 97.6mph, which is much more reminiscent of the ace that has been an elite fantasy option for years. Fantasy owners can breathe easier now and can consider starting him next week against the Boston Red Sox, although some caution is recommended.

Seth Lugo Strikes Out 10, Picks Up Win On Sunday

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Seth Lugo authored another impressive performance on Sunday, shutting out the Cleveland Guardians for six innings and earning his 11th win of the season in the process. Lugo was masterful in this one, allowing just four hits and a walk while punching out 10. After a bit of a rough patch in early June, the 34-year-old has gotten right back on track with four terrific starts. Those four starts have all been quality starts, and he has allowed just four runs in 24 IP (1.46 ERA) while striking out 30. While he should still be considered a sell high, it isn't unreasonable to just hold onto him as he should continue to rack up quality starts and wins on a good Royals team.
