Finally, you can turn your sports knowledge into real cash by investing in an athlete’s entire career. Prices rise and fall with every hit, huddle, and headline — and you can buy and sell instantly or hold for as long as you want. Three times a week, FTN will feature a player and his Mojo value — is it time to buy, sell, hold or short? Click here to get in on the Mojo action.

Injuries provide opportunity.

Week 6 signals the exact one-third mark of the NFL season, and injuries have started to play a critical role in player values at Mojo.

Mojo is a whole new pure sports investment, based on athletes. The share price is the public’s expectations for a player’s career based on six objective stats. A player’s value can be greatly affected by the result of a small subset of games.

With the Lions, Titans, Raiders and Titans on their bye week, there are fewer opportunities to find investment value in Week 6. Here are three players who could see their stock price soar as a result of an injury to a teammate or returning from their own injury.

PJ Walker, QB, Carolina Panthers

Current Price: $4.16
All-Time High: $4.52
All-Time Low: $0.77

The Panthers are in a state of chaos. They fired head coach Matt Rhule, and quarterback Baker Mayfield is now sidelined for several weeks with a high-ankle sprain. While Sam Darnold was listed ahead of PJ Walker on the preseason depth chart, Darnold is currently “not close” to returning from his own ankle injury.

Walker is a 27-year-old veteran quarterback who now inherits an underachieving offense filled with playmakers. Walker will have an All-Pro running back in Christian McCaffrey and two explosive wide receivers in DJ Moore and Robbie Anderson

Expectations are low for the 1-4 Panthers, giving Walker an opportunity to boost his Mojo value quickly. If Walker plays well, and Carolina wins even a couple games, Walker’s stock should easily exceed its all-time high of $4.52.

Walker is certainly not a starting-level NFL quarterback, but his stock price still has value. By increasing his value by just 37 cents, Walker believers would see an 8.2 percent return on investment. The Panthers have a favorable Week 8-10 schedule of the Falcons (twice) and Bengals. Walker won’t produce top-12 quarterback stat lines, but he simply needs average production to be a lucrative short-term investment.

Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints

Current Price: $19.83
All-Time High: $22.16
All-Time Low: $5.96

After last week’s New Orleans victory, investors have been running to invest in the versatile Taysom Hill. The 32-year-old QB/RB/TE was a Week 5 fantasy league-winner with four touchdowns in the Saints’ 39-32 win over the Seahawks.

Somehow lost in the New Orleans victory, though, was the superb performance by All-Pro Alvin Kamara, who has been in and out of the lineup due to a rib injury. He exploded for 194 total yards and six receptions (on six targets). With Jameis Winston, Michael Thomas and now rookie Chris Olave battling injuries, Kamara should see an even larger opportunity share of this New Orleans offense.

Alvin Kamara Mojo Fantasy Football Spotlight

Kamara’s price has dipped over $2 below its all-time high of $22.16. He faces Cincinnati, Arizona and Las Vegas the next three weeks, all favorable matchups for the versatile pass-catching running back.

With an All-Pro pedigree, Kamara is actually undervalued in the Mojo market. The 27-year-old running back provides the perfect combination of talent, experience and opportunity in the upcoming weeks.

Jakobi Meyers, WR, New England Patriots

Current Price: $12.40
All-Time High: $13.80
All-Time Low: $2.79

I was extremely high on Jakobi Meyers entering the 2022 season. He was a reliable short-to-intermediate route receiver for rookie quarterback Mac Jones, and he ended last season with 126 targets and 83 receptions.

Meyers missed two straight games in Weeks 3-4 with a knee injury but returned with a monster performance in Week 5. He turned a team-high eight targets into seven receptions, 111 receiving yards and a touchdown. Meyers has 27 targets in his three games and has become the top receiving option for New England.

New England faces a very favorable late-season schedule for wide receivers. The Patriots face the Raiders, Bengals and Dolphins in the critical Weeks 15-17. Meyers was due for positive touchdown regression and could see a huge increase in his Mojo stock price if he stays healthy. With Mac Jones scheduled to return as quarterback in the next few weeks, now is the time to invest in Jakobi Meyers. His early-season injury has only suppressed the stock price on a player ready for a breakout season.
