ADP = average draft position (the order the players are being drafted on Underdog)
VDP Rank = our rankings (created by Vlad Sedler)

Delta is the difference between Underdog ADP and VDP Rank (ADP-VDP)

positive delta = players we like better than the market (targets)
negative delta = players we like less than the market (avoid or draft after their ADP)

VDP incorporates several factors including positional scarcity, projected DraftKings fantasy points using FTN VDP Projections, and a formulaic weight encompassing ADP.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Do not draft in the exact order of this list. The players with large variances (deltas of 10+) should be targeted and drafted 1-2 rounds ahead of their DraftKings ADP, not where they are listed in our VDP rankings. For example, Jonathan India has a +40 delta (197 ADP, 157 VDP). If you like India, you should target him in the 180-190 ADP range.

The VDP Rankings are formulaic with a weight of 75% towards ADP/market price and 25% towards our projected points. There are very good pitchers (ie, Spencer Strider, Yoshinobu Yamamoto) we project for less than a full season (130-150 innings instead of 170-190) which is why they have negative deltas. That doesn’t mean we avoid them entirely as they still project for high PPG averages.

The player pool is 240 players (12 teams x 20 roster spots). We have ranked 260 players. Players 241-260’s delta formula (ADP-VDP) are tied to the number 240, not 260.

To upload FTN VDP DraftKings Rankings:

Export the file and save it as a CSV (make sure the first column’s header says ‘ID’)
Go to https://www.draftkings.com/draft/rankings/mlb (Pre-Draft Rankings)
Select ‘CSV Upload/Download’
Select ‘Upload CSV’ and insert (upload) your CSV file
After it has uploaded, select ‘Save Rankings’
Crush your drafts
