Today’s Best NHL Bets

Nashville/Columbus Over 6

(-103, BetRivers)

Columbus has been stuck in a cycle where they’ve had to fight through poor goaltending by outscoring the other team. Nashville, on paper, does have a ton of firepower, but the new additions just haven’t meshed very well throughout the season. The Predators have put up some big offensive performances at certain points in the season but have shown absolutely no semblance of consistency. This matchup against the Blue Jackets should give them more opportunities than usual to get their offense going. As for the Blue Jackets offense, they have all their big pieces healthy, and they should be able to win a lot of puck battles against this young and unproven Predators defense. Roman Josi’s injury has really put their blueline in a tough situation. They’ve actually played well considering the circumstances, but they’re naturally going to struggle more against the more physical teams, and physicality is what the Blue Jackets offer. I have this game being more high scoring than the oddsmakers have it and will be going over 6.

LA Kings ML

(-120, DraftKings/FanDuel, 2.4 units to win 2 units)

This game between the Jets and Kings should be on track to be the game of the night. These are two of the best teams in the league who are both on their A-game right now, but I give the Kings an edge nonetheless. The addition of Andrei Kuzmenko has given a huge boost to the Kings top line and Drew Doughty is slowly shaping up to his usual world class form. On top of that, the Kings are the best home team in the entire NHL. A record of 27-4-4 at home is on track to be the absolute best home record in team history. On top of that, Darcy Kuemper in particular has been sensational at home, only accounting for two regulation home losse, and putting up a ridiculous 1.69 GAA, and .932 SV%. On top of that, while the Jets are locked into the playoffs, the Kings are just four points away from eighth place in the Western Conference. One bad swing of games is all it’ll take for chaos to ensue. I am going to place a big moneyline bet on the Kings with 2.4 units to win 2 units.
