Have you ever written an SE article for three DFS slates at once? Me neither! So let’s wing it. I’m going to go game by game, but to avoid too much repetition with the Matchups show, I’m not going to go deep into the football analysis in this article. It’ll be mostly rostership, leverage and correlation based.
Game-by-Game Thoughts
Chargers vs. Texans
I don’t expect either of these Saturday games to get much rostership on the six-gamer, but this first game will get plenty on the two-gamer. We’ve actually seen two previews to this slate, since all but Los Angeles were a part of those back-to-back two-gamers culminating on Christmas Day. The Chargers are just replacing the Chiefs. So we know:
- Nico Collins will be high rostered as one of the only spend-ups.
- Derrick Henry and Joe Mixon will both get plenty of rostership.
- Henry’s rostership and Lamar Jackson’s rostership will probably sum to over 100%, meaning lineups with neither will be more rare than lineups with both.
- Justin Herbert and C.J. Stroud will get most of the non-Lamar QB rostership.
- Chargers like Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston will likely get more rostership than any of the Chiefs got on those slates.
Since this isn’t a great matchup for any of the Chargers’ receivers (Houston’s weakness is yards after the catch, which isn’t a strength for any of these guys), I’d prefer to max one of them, even Saturday. The obvious exception would be if I stacked Justin Herbert, but that seems unlikely at the moment. On the Saturday slate, I’ll have at least one of McConkey, Johnston and J.K. Dobbins.
Like I mentioned on the Matchups show, I either want to use both Joe Mixon and Nico Collins or neither (Chargers DST!) on the Saturday slate. I’ll be using neither on the six-gamer.
