Welcome to the NHL prop bets w/ Chris Meaney, where I share a few of my favorite NHL prop bets. There are 13 games on the NHL betting slate for Thursday.

This is a great night for SGP point parlays, so be sure to check out our FTN Bets Tracker for more. With our betting package you get all of our picks across all sports, plus access to our Discord channel and to our projections. Promo code Meaney will get you 20% off all packages at FTN

Be sure to check out Mean Streets for daily picks and Dangle Bet Celly for full NHL breakdowns each Tuesday and Thursday.

Season Record: 30-31, +10.56 (Bonus not included in record)

I still like my bonus bets even though I don’t include them in the official record. The reason I list three official picks is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. I also feel strong about my bonus picks but they are longer shots. If you’re looking for more be sure to check out our Pick Tracker

The Best NHL Prop Bets

Patrik Laine Over 3.5 SOG

(-125, DraftKings Sportsbook)

This isn’t the +138 we got with Laine Tuesday, and the odds have changed considerably since this morning, but I believe Laine will put four pucks on the net. He has 19 shots in his last three games, and he has 10 shots on goal in his last contests. Laine’s 46 shot attempts since Jan. 8 ranks fourth in the league. That’s a span of five games where he’s averaging 9.2 shot attempts per game. The Ducks rank first in the league in shot attempts and shots allowed at 5v5/60 over the last six weeks, according to Natural Stat Trick. I also like Boone Jenner for three shots, but his price is more juiced so consider him in a parlay as discussed on Mean Streets.

Seth Jones Over 2.5 SOG

(+100, BetRivers)

A matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers may not scream “must watch,” but there’s a lot of appealing NHL props from this game. Jones has cleared 2.5 shots on goal in three straight games and four of his past five contests. He’s averaging 25 minutes per game over that span, which is a big reason why I like him. The Flyers and the Blackhawks both rank in the top 10 in shot attempts and shots allowed at 5v5/60 over the past six weeks of the season. Travis Konecny is juiced as is Kevin Hayes, so that’s why I have them in parlays in our Bet Tracker.

Bonus

Carter Verhaeghe Over 2.5 SOG

(-112, BetRivers)

I like Carter Verhaeghe and the Florida Panthers to have a big night offensively. The Panthers’ second line with Verhaeghe, Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk have combined for three goals, seven points and 16 shots on goal in their last two games. Verhaeghe has goals in back-to-back games and 21 on the season. He’s racked up 13 shots on goal over his past three games and he’s cleared 2.5 in each of those games. Since Dec. 1, the Habs rank fourth in shot attempts allowed and shots given up. They also continue to lead the league in penalty minutes.
