The league’s biggest bouncing ball at the quarterback position bounced again Monday, with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick agreeing to a one-year deal to join the Washington Football Team, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Former Dolphins’ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick reached agreement with the Washington Football Team on a one-year deal worth $10 million that could grow to $12 million with incentives, per source. Fitzpatrick is expected to head to camp as the starter, with competition from Taylor Heinicke.

Fitzpatrick, 38, is entering his 17th year in the league. He’s been with the Rams, Bengals, Bills, Texans, Jets, Buccaneers and most recently the Dolphins the last two seasons. He has 100 touchdowns against 68 interceptions across the last six seasons.

Washington nabs QB, signs Ryan Fitzpatrick

Fantasy slant: Washington's sexiness factor just increased exponentially. Fitzpatrick showed in 2020 that he's more than capable of still being a starting quarterback in the NFL. Over the first six weeks of the season, he threw for 1,535 yards and 10 scores while chipping in 135 yards and two scores on the ground. That was good enough for 11th among quarterbacks in fantasy scoring. At age 39, Fitzpatrick isn't more than a short-term bridge, and his presence on the roster doesn't necessarily preclude the Football Team from drafting the quarterback of the future in next month's draft. However, this signing does come with fantasy appeal. Not only does Fitzpatrick's presence elevate the fantasy potential of Terry McLaurin and Logan Thomas, but he should also retain QB2-plus value. Fitzpatrick is now shaping up to be a late-round upside target in 2021 drafts. — Jeff Ratcliffe
