As the fantasy football season rolls on, situations change quickly week to week. Whether injuries, totals, game scripts, etc. the NFL landscape is constantly evolving. To help diagnose those changes weekly for fantasy football, I’ll highlight them using our amazing split tool.
Allen Robinson, WR, Chicago Bears
Mitchell Trubisky under center has produced better results for Allen Robinson this season. With Trubisky throwing him passes, Robinson’s numbers have bumped across the board, but his touchdowns per game have seen the biggest increase. Robinson takes on a Texans secondary that has had trouble stopping anyone through the air. The fact that Phillip Gaines (knee/shoulder) and Keion Crossen (foot) are banged up won’t help matters. Robinson will run approximately 70% of his routes on the outside this week against Vernon Hargreaves and Gaines. These two corners have combined to allow a 70.3% catch rate (91) targets and eight receiving touchdowns. After a week in which Robinson was popular and disappointed in DFS, this is a perfect time to go back to him.
Chris Carson, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Pete Carroll has stated that Carson will get a full workload this week, and the matchup could not be prettier. The Jets have the most missed tackles in the NFL, so watching them attempt to stop a fully healthy Carson in the open field will be hilarious to watch. The Seahawks are currently favored by 14 points. In the three games Carson has played in which Seattle has been favored by 10 or more over the last three seasons, he’s averaging 18.9 DraftKings points per game. Carson is set to smash this week.
Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons
The goal of this article has been primarily to highlight fantastic plays utilizing our splits tool all year, but I had to make sure this was included in this instance. With his price tag plummeting weekly, people might feel so inclined to roster Matt Ryan with some of his pass-catchers this week. Please don’t. Don’t do this to yourself. Ryan has been dreadful over the last three seasons when Julio Jones has missed, and Calvin Ridley is all Ryan has to lean on. This is not to say Ridley has been bad, but Ryan has been. During those four games, Ryan is averaging a pitiful 240 passing yards and 14.4 DraftKings points per game.
