Rachaad White Limited In First Practice Of The Week

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White (foot) was listed as limited on Thursday in the team's first practice of the week. White was inactive for the team's Week 6 win over the division-rival New Orleans Saints, which allowed rookie Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker to share the backfield in the blowout victory. Both Irving and Tucker went over 100 scrimmage yards in the impressive performance, which has led to the Buccaneers going to a three-man backfield committee once White is able to return to full health. It's bad news for the 25-year-old White, who has easily been the least efficient of the Bucs' three backs through six weeks of the season. Tampa plans to go with the hot-hand approach, so all is not lost for White, but for now, he's on the outside looking in after missing last week's game due to injury. And with Tampa not playing until Monday against the Ravens, White isn't a recommended fantasy play.

Mike Evans Dealing With Hamstring Injury

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) missed practice on Thursday with a nagging hamstring issue. It's an injury that gave Evans some problems during the team's Week 6 win over the division-rival New Orleans Saints, but it doesn't sound like anything too serious, with head coach Todd Bowles expecting Evans to return to practice on Friday or Saturday. The Buccaneers play on Monday night this week versus the Baltimore Ravens. The 31-year-old could eventually get a questionable tag on Saturday's final injury report, but as of right now, he appears to be on the right side of questionable. After catching three touchdown passes in Weeks 4 and 5, Evans came back down to earth last week with just two catches for 34 yards. If he's active on Monday night, fantasy managers should consider him a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 against Baltimore.

Mike Evans Held Out Of Practice On Thursday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (leg) is not practicing on Thursday to begin Week 7 preparation. The team faces the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football, so Evans' status will be worth monitoring ahead of a potential late-week start-or-sit decision. As he often is, Evans has been up and down this season. Overall, the 31-year-old has hauled in 25 of his 42 targets for 310 yards and five touchdowns. However, he has three games of under 45 yards. The Ravens have allowed the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year, so he could be in for a big spike week if he plays. If not, Chris Godwin has legitimate WR1 overall upside, while Jalen McMillan and tight end Cade Otton could become viable options at flex and TE.

Buccaneers Likely To Rotate Three Backs When Rachaad White Returns

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White (foot) saw workhorse usage last season and was a high-end fantasy RB1 in PPR leagues, but his injury and the emergence of rookie Bucky Irving and second-year undrafted free-agent Sean Tucker have brought uncertainty to his role. Irving is averaging 5.7 yards per carry to White's 3.7, and Tucker posted nearly 200 total yards and two touchdowns in Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints. Buccaneers reporter Greg Auman said he believes White will likely still be the first RB on the depth chart when he recovers from his foot injury, but Irving and Tucker have raised the bar in the backfield, and Tampa Bay could start to rotate all three backs. If the team uses a three-man committee, it will limit the floors and upsides of all three backs and cause headaches for fantasy managers. The usage of the Tampa Bay backs should be closely monitored moving forward.

Marquez Callaway Expected To Sign With Buccaneers

Free-agent wide receiver Marquez Callaway is reportedly expected to sign a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This seems like an odd move given the Bucs do have a crowded receiver room. Callaway last played with the New Orleans Saints during the 2023 season. His best season came in 2021 when he hauled in 46 receptions for 698 yards and six touchdowns. Since then, Callaway hasn't done much on the field and figures to be depth on the practice squad. It would take a few injuries at wide receiver for Callaway to start making an impact in Tampa Bay.
