The 6-1 New York Giants will travel to Seattle to take on the 4-3 Seahawks in Week 8. I bet that’s not a sentence anyone would’ve predicted to be written before the season started, but this projects to be a fun matchup between two teams who have (surprisingly) put themselves in a position to push for the playoffs.
The Giants have ridden Saquon Barkley, Daniel Jones’ legs and stout defense so far this year, and they’ve had a knack for winning close, ugly games. Seattle’s hot start can largely be attributed to the resurgence, or maybe emergence, of quarterback Geno Smith. Smith has been extremely efficient up to this point, but he could be without his top wideout DK Metcalf due to a knee injury.
This matchup could prove crucial to both teams’ final place in the division and conference standings at the end of the season, as the Giants hope to keep pace with the Eagles and the Seahawks attempt to stay in front of the Rams and 49ers.
