New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 24 of his 39 passes for 276 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions while adding a two-point conversion pass in a 37-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7. Rodgers has uncharacteristically struggled to take care of the ball of late, throwing six interceptions over his past three games. The veteran quarterback threw his lone touchdown to Tyler Conklin in the lopsided loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday night. Rodgers has now thrown for 1,663 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions through seven games this season. Settled in as a QB2 in fantasy moving forward, Rodgers will take on the New England Patriots on the road in Week 8. He threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns back when these two teams met in Week 3.
New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin (hip) will play on Sunday night against the Steelers. The veteran was questionable for this one because of a hip injury. However, he carried the same designation ahead of the Week 6 matchup with the Bills, so this update isn't surprising. With that said, Conklin has only 19 catches this season, so he's not a viable fantasy option. The arrival of Davante Adams also means he will see less attention from Aaron Rodgers moving ahead.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, "a select group of NFL teams" have contacted the Jets regarding the availability of wide receiver Garrett Wilson. With New York recently acquiring Davante Adams, there are many who believe Wilson's days with the Jets are over. However, there hasn't been any indication suggesting the team would make a move, considering he's one of the league's most promising young receivers. Although Wilson was expected to have a breakout year in 2024-25, that hasn't happened. But in all fairness, he hasn't been horrible, amassing 41 catches for 399 yards and three touchdowns. It remains to be seen if Wilson and Adams can co-exist, so the situation is worth monitoring moving ahead. For now, the 24-year-old remains a must-start for Sunday Night's meeting with the Steelers.
San Francisco 49ers kicker Anders Carlson will kick off against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Santa Clara. The younger brother of Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson will be the third kicker used by the 49ers in as many games since Jake Moody (ankle) and Matthew Wright (shoulder, back) both suffered injuries attempting to make tackles. Last season, Carlson spent his rookie year as the Green Bay Packers starting kicker from beginning to end but was cut during this year's preseason. Carlson was the 23rd-most productive kicker in fantasy but led the league in misses with 13. Any decent kicker that San Francisco puts out there is likely a decent fantasy option, given the team's offensive prowess, as seen last week with journeyman Wright's three field goals and three extra points made. Anyone streaming kickers or looking for a replacement could do worse than Carlson in Week 7.
New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein has struggled in 2024, making just eight of his 12 field-goal attempts, including missing two of four in a close three-point loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 6. The Jets tried out kickers at practice earlier in the week but ultimately decided to stick with Zuerlein for at least another game as they prepare to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road in Week 7. The Steelers have been tough on fantasy kickers this season, allowing just the 29th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Zuerlein settles in as a mid-range fantasy kicker in Week 7.
