One of my favorite movies growing up was Speed

A bus is armed with a bomb that will explode if its speed drops below 50 miles per hour. Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock try to save the people on the bus before the bomb goes off. A preposterous yet completely enjoyable thrill ride from the mid-90s.

How does this possibly relate to my favorite Week 13 Mojo investment?

Easy. It’s time to hop on the bus.

Mojo Spotlight: Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Gus Edwards is finally healthy and is set up for a monster Week 13 home performance against the Denver Broncos. He is in his fifth NFL season, as an UDFA from Rutgers. Over his first three seasons, Gus “The Bus” was one of the most efficient running backs in the league, averaging over 5.0 yards per carry in each of those years. In the 2021 preseason, Edwards suffered a torn ACL, which cost him the entire regular season last year. The 6-foot-1, 230-pound bruising back has also battled a hamstring injury this season, which has culminated with just three games played in 2022.

However, Edwards looked fully healthy in Week 12, rushing 16 times for 52 yards and a touchdown against a strong Jacksonville run defense. The Jaguars have allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs over the past five weeks. That includes the seventh-fewest running back rushing yards against.

Despite the Ravens 28-27 loss to Jacksonville, it was a very encouraging sign to see Edwards handle 16 of the 19 Baltimore running back rushing attempts. It was the most rushing attempts Edwards handled since Oct. 23, his first game after his ACL rehab. In the three games Edwards has played he has seen 16, 11 and 16 rushing attempts.

Sunday Matchup: Denver Broncos

Sunday, the Ravens will face a Denver Broncos team that has almost waived the “white flag” on the 2022 season. Denver has lost six of their last seven games, including three straight matchups to Tennessee, Las Vegas, and Carolina. In last week’s loss to the Panthers, Carolina rushed for 185 yards or a robust 46 attempts. Lead RB D’Onta Foreman posted 113 yards on 4.7 YPC. In Week 11, Raiders running back Josh Jacobs turned 24 carries into 109 yards at 4.5 YPC. Given the Broncos elite pass defense, teams run on the Raiders, and run successfully.

Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson has been battling nagging injuries over the past month, and left practice Thursday with a quadriceps injury. This game profiles as a heavy rushing attack, with Jackson’s usual ground game possibly scaled back. Denver has allowed 511 rushing yards over the past four games, which sets up as a perfect matchup for a big game from Edwards.

This game is a must-win for a Baltimore team that is now tied with Cincinnati at 7-4 atop the AFC North. With a 9.5-point spread, all signs point to a comfortable Baltimore win with a heavy rushing game script.

Mojo Price: Capitalize on Value

Edwards’ price on Mojo is still slightly below his one-month high last Friday. He is currently trading at $7.45 per share, with a one-year high of $8.53 last Dec. 4. When the weather gets colder, physical runners such as Edwards have a huge advantage.

With a 5X multiplier, I am all-in on the Gus Bus this Sunday against a poor Denver defense. Just as in 2021, it’s always a smart investment to back the big, physical running back in cold weather at home.
