Kyren Williams Has Surgery On Broken Hand

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams (hand) had successful surgery on Tuesday to fix a broken bone in his hand, according to head coach Sean McVay. Williams broke a bone in his hand in Sunday night's one-point wild-card loss to the Detroit Lions, but he'll have plenty of time to heal up before the start of the 2024 regular season. The 23-year-old moved into a starting role in LA's backfield in Week 2 of the 2023 campaign after the Rams traded Cam Akers away. Williams had a career year, carrying the ball 228 times for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns while also logging 32 receptions (48 targets) for 206 yards and three more scores in just 12 regular-season games played. He could have more competition for touches in 2024 in the Rams' backfield, but Williams should remain the lead back, which will give him at least high-end RB2 upside in fantasy drafts.

Torn ACL Confirmed For Tyler Higbee

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) suffered a torn ACL on a brutal low hit by Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph in Sunday's wild-card loss, according to a source after results of Higbee's MRI came back. He'll now face a big challenge to be ready for the start of next season. "I don't have no intention to hurt no body and or harm their career," Joseph wrote on social media. The 31-year-old is now highly unlikely to be ready for the start of the 2024 regular season, and Davis Allen and Brycen Hopkins should be the top two candidates that could benefit from bigger pass-catching roles at the position in LA. In his eighth year with the Rams in 2023, Higbee caught 47 of 70 targets for 495 yards and only two touchdowns in 15 games. With rookie receiver Puka Nacua breaking out immediately, it was hard for Higbee to be much more than a touchdown-dependent, low-end TE1/high-end TE2 in fantasy.

Tyler Higbee Likely Has Torn ACL

An MRI exam will be done Monday to confirm that Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) tore his right ACL on an ugly-looking hit by Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's wild-card game. If the 31-year-old indeed has a torn ACL in his knee, he probably won't end up being ready for the start of the 2024 season this fall. Higbee remains under contract with the Rams for next season, but rookie Davis Allen could open the year as the team's primary pass-catching tight end if Higbee is still rehabbing his knee injury. In 15 regular season games in 2023, Higbee was a low-end TE1/high-end TE2 for fantasy managers and finished with 47 receptions for 495 yards and only two touchdowns on 70 targets.

Tutu Atwell Scores In Wild-Card Loss

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Tutu Atwell got into the end zone during the team's Wild-Card playoff loss to the Detroit Lions. Atwell caught his lone target for a 38-yard first-half touchdown. This was the third-year receiver's first touchdown since his Week 7 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp, and Demarcus Robinson all play ahead of and have been much more involved in the offense than Atwell. Heading into next season, the 24-year-old should not be considered in drafts unless playing in an extremely deep fantasy league.

Kyren Williams Injures Hand, Accounts For Just 14 touches

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams (hand) was not very productive in the team's 24-23 Wild-Card loss to the Detroit Lions. He left Sunday's loss to the Lions in the fourth quarter with a hand injury and did not return. Williams rushed the ball 13 times for 61 yards on the ground while catching his lone target for nine yards before exiting. This workload was surprising, considering he has had at least 20 touches in seven straight games before this one. Williams took over the three-down role early on in the season and has not looked back. Assuming the team does not add any significant backs in the offseason, the 23-year-old should be considered in the first two rounds of fantasy drafts next season.
