Davis Allen Ruled Out Again

Los Angeles Rams tight end Davis Allen (back) has officially been ruled out ahead of the team's Week 3 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. It will be the second consecutive game he has been unable to suit up. With Allen out, expect Colby Parkinson and Hunter Long to handle tight-end duties for Los Angeles. The 23-year-old has appeared in just six snaps this season, failing to haul in his lone target. If the former fifth-round pick can work his way back to health, he can carve out a role in LA's passing attack due to the sheer volume of critical Rams' pieces suffering injuries. The team has already been without Tyler Higbee and will now navigate the foreseeable future sans star wideout Cooper Kupp after losing Puka Nacua to early-season IR. For now, Allen is not a recommended option for fantasy, though he is someone whose return we should monitor.

Joshua Karty Questionable For Week 3

Los Angeles Rams rookie kicker Joshua Karty (groin) will be listed as questionable for the team's Week 3 contest this Sunday against the division-rival San Francisco 49ers. Head coach Sean McVay said he won't know whether Karty will be able to go this weekend until after Friday's practice. If Karty isn't cleared by the team to kick against the Niners, Tanner Brown would be the next man up for the Rams' kicking game. No matter what happens with LA's kicking situation on Sunday, fantasy managers should be looking to avoid it against a strong 49ers defense. On top of the bad matchup, the Rams are missing their top two pass-catchers in Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee). The 22-year-old Karty has made all three of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point opportunities this year in the first two games of his NFL career.

Cooper Kupp Officially Ruled Out Against 49ers

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) was officially ruled out for the Week 3 divisional contest this weekend against the visiting San Francisco 49ers. Kupp injured his ankle in Week 2 loss to the division-rival Arizona Cardinals and is a candidate to land on Injured Reserve, which would require him to miss at least four games. It's extremely bad news for the Rams offense, which is already missing wideout Puka Nacua (knee), who is on the IR. For the foreseeable future, fantasy managers need to keep Kupp in an IR spot and hope he can return sooner than later. With both Kupp and Nacua sidelined, Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson will continue to serve in elevated starting roles, while Tutu Atwell and rookie Jordan Whittington will also be battling for more targets in the passing game. Tight end Colby Parkinson disappointed last week, but he, too, should see more work moving forward.

Cooper Kupp Has High Ankle Sprain, Avoids IR

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain against the Cardinals in Week 2, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. According to the report, Kupp will spend the next week or so in a cast to help ease the swelling. The Rams did not place Kupp on IR and there is still optimism he can return within the four-week timetable. It's not the worst news for Kupp managers but high ankle sprains can be tricky to come back from. The fact that he is not on IR is a somewhat promising sign. Kupp was off to a flying start to the season with 21 targets in his first game in a dominant 14 catch, 110-yard, 1-TD performance against the Lions. When healthy, Kupp is still a dominant fantasy player but the injuries have become a concern.

Rams Sign Quintez Cephus To Practice Squad

The Los Angeles Rams have signed wide receiver Quintez Cephus to their practice squad amid injuries to their top two receivers, Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. Cephus hasn't played in an NFL regular-season game since 2022, when he was with the Detroit Lions. The Rams' passing game struggled in Week 2 against the Cardinals, mainly after Cooper Kupp exited the game. Their current wide receiver group consists of Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, Jordan Whittington, and Tutu Atwell. The Rams did not place Kupp on injured reserve, indicating they expect him back within the nefew of weeks. Cephus is a depth move, and fantasy managers do not need to consider adding him to their rosters ahead of this week's matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
