Justin Herbert Could Have A Mediocre Week 2

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert could have another mediocre performance in a Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Herbert led the Chargers to a win over the Raiders in Week 1, but it was mostly the running game and defense that did the work. Herbert put up just 10.4 fantasy points in standard scoring leagues, completing 17 of his 26 pass attempts for 144 yards and a touchdown. The Chargers attempted 26 passes and 27 runs, and it seems likely that a similar pattern will continue, greatly limiting Herbert's fantasy production. He'll likely have some huge games this season if the Chargers find themselves trailing and forced to throw, but it appears the game plan for the Bolts offense will be to run the ball and win the field position battle on defense. Herbert should be a steady, high-floor QB2, but the top-tier upside his talent implies is unlikely to be on display in Week 2.

Tyler Conklin Catches One Pass In Week 1

New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin caught one of his two targets for a six-yard gain in a 32-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. Conklin was quiet in his season debut, although he was on the field a lot. The 49ers dominated the time of possession battle in this contest, resulting in Aaron Rodgers attempting just 21 passes. Conklin could have bigger games ahead of him but he is not a must-hold in redraft leagues as the Jets prepare to take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 2.

Mike Williams Held Without A Target In Week 1

New York Jets wide receiver Mike Williams was not targeted in a 32-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1. Williams was on a pitch count after tearing his ACL early last season and he wound up playing just a handful of snaps for the Jets, mostly in the red zone. The goose egg from Williams is concerning but the Jets indicated heading into the game that they would be easing the veteran into action in the early going. Williams should slowly ramp up activity over the next few games but he will also have to contend with Allen Lazard, who caught two touchdowns on Monday night. For now, Williams is just a bench stash in deep fantasy leagues heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Quentin Johnston Gets Three Catches In Season Opener

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston didn't put together a standout performance in the opening win against the Las Vegas Raiders but established himself in the receiving order. The second-year wideout finished with three receptions for 38 yards on five targets. He had the second-most targets on the team, right after Ladd McConkey who received seven. The Chargers were in the lead for most of the second half while J.K. Dobbins had a huge day on the ground, so the passing game did take a backseat as seen by Justin Herbert's 26 attempts compared to 27 total carries. Johnston seems to be in line for more targets this year as the offense grows under the new coaching regime, but he would be more viable in deeper fantasy leagues.

Cameron Dicker Kicks Three Field Goals In A Week 1 Win

Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker attempted three field goals and one extra point in a Week 1 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. He made all four of his kicks, scoring 10 of the Chargers 22 points. Dicker started off the season just as he left off the last one: very consistent and reliable. He was a top-10 kicker in fantasy last season and should be right up there again this year.
