The New York Jets made a splash Monday, signing free agent WR Corey Davis, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Former Titans’ WR Corey Davis reached agreement on a three-year, $37.5 million deal that includes $27 million guaranteed with the New York Jets, per sources.

Davis, the Titans’ first-round pick (fifth overall) in 2017, spent his first four years in Tennessee. He struggled early but had a breakout 2020, totaling 984 yards and 5 touchdowns in 14 games.

Jets land Corey Davis in free agency

Fantasy slant:  Davis arrives in New York after last year’s breakout season as the 1A to A.J. Brown in Tennessee. While Davis’s counting stats don’t leap off the page (65 receptions, 984 receiving yards), he was extremely efficient inside the Titans’ run-first offense. In 2020 Davis finished fifth in yards per route run among all wide receivers with 50 or more targets. Davis will team with Denzel Mims and Jamison Crowder (if he’s not cut) to form a solid trio of receiving weapons for 2021. — Derek Brown
