Jakob Poeltl Leaves Sunday With Dislocated Finger

Toronto Raptors center Jakob Poeltl (finger) left the game against the Charlotte Hornets in the second quarter with a dislocated pinky finger. During his 15 minutes of playing time, Poeltl finished with eight points, three assists, two rebounds, one block, and one turnover while shooting 4-for-6 from the floor. The veteran big man has provided a much-needed inside presence since returning from injury. In the 13-game stretch since then, he's averaged 12.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.9 blocks, and 1.5 turnovers per game. Kelly Olynyk has seen some added opportunities and should move into the starting five if Poeltl has to miss any more time. Jontay Porter would also get some more minutes from the bench.

Bruce Brown Out With Knee Inflammation

Toronto Raptors guard Bruce Brown (knee) won't play in Sunday's meeting with the Charlotte Hornets. Right knee inflammation will keep Brown out on Sunday, with the combo guard originally being a late addition to the injury report. Across Brown's past 13 games, the versatile 27-year-old is averaging 7.2 points while shooting just 39.8% from the floor, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 23.7 minutes contest and ranks outside the top 200 in nine-category fantasy leagues during this stretch. Brown's next shot to return to the floor comes on Tuesday versus the New Orleans Pelicans.Gradey Dick was already on the rise and is now looking at an increased workload. Over the rookie first-rounder's last 11 outings, he's averaging 12.3 points and 2.4 treys on 51.0% shooting from deep in 21.5 minutes and is a solid fantasy streamer in a favorable matchup. The Hornets hold the third-worst defensive efficiency rating (117.3), and they carry the fourth-worst opponent field-goal percentage (49.5%) this year.

Bruce Brown Now Questionable For Sunday Night

Toronto Raptors forward Bruce Brown (knee) is questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Hornets. He's averaged just 8.6 points in 19 games since being traded to Toronto, down from 12.1 points while with the Pacers. However, with Scottie Barnes (hand) out indefinitely, Brown has a chance to get more involved moving ahead. While there's a chance the 27-year-old could still suit up, rookie Gradey Dick, who averaged a career-high 11.0 points in February, could draw even more interest from fantasy managers. There's also room for Ochai Agbaji to see more work, although he can't be trusted.

Scottie Barnes Fractures Hand On Friday Night

According to TSN Sports' Josh Lewenberg, Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes (hand) is out indefinitely. The All-Star logged just 16 minutes in Friday's meeting with the Warriors before injuring his left hand. He didn't return. There was some confusion regarding how the injury happened. However, and most importantly, subsequent testing revealed he suffered a fracture to the third metacarpal bone. Barnes has had the best year of his career, averaging 20.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.5 blocks. He's also shot 34.0% from deep, a significant upgrade from his first two seasons. Unfortunately, fantasy managers may not have him in their lineups for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign. But Kelly Olynyk, who had 16 points, 10 boards, and three steals, should get scooped off of waivers immediately, assuming he's still available.

Chris Boucher Still Dealing With An Illness, Questionable Friday

Toronto Raptors power forward Chris Boucher (illness) is regarded as questionable for Friday's clash with the Warriors. He's been feeling under the weather and could be absent for a second consecutive contest due to a non-COVID illness. However, it's already been three games since the last time Boucher saw any action, so he's not really part of what the Raptors are trying to do right now.
