Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) is active ahead of Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Maxey will make his return to the lineup after missing each of the last six games due to a lingering hamstring issue. His return should be a huge boost to the Sixers lineup considering Maxey was producing at an elite level before going down. The expectation is that Maxey will be limited during his first game back in the lineup. Jared McCain will likely see his production take a hit with Maxey returning. Fantasy managers should hold McCain for now to wait and see how he produces with Maxey playing alongside him.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) has been upgraded from out to questionable ahead of Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Maxey has missed the last six games due to a right hamstring strain. It sounds like he's on the verge of returning which is great news for this Sixers team. Fellow guard Kyle Lowry (hip) has been ruled out for at least the next three games. That means, Jared McCain should see heavy minutes if Maxey and Lowry are both out. McCain has been excellent lately and is someone who needs to be rostered in most formats. Reggie Jackson and Eric Gordon figure to gain minutes as well if Maxey remains out. If active, Maxey might be on a minutes limit during his first game back, so fantasy managers should be mindful of that.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) has been out since November 6 when he strained his hamstring against the Los Angeles Clippers. According to Shams Charania, the star combo guard could return as early as Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies. He said there was "optimism" around Maxey's return, so nothing official just yet. Fantasy managers will want to stay tuned for the injury report on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. In the meantime, Jared McCain will see heavy minutes with Kyle Lowry alongside him in the starting lineup.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the team's Wednesday night contest against the Los Angeles Clippers. At the time, it was considered to be minor, but the star combo guard will miss multiple weeks. According to Brett Siegel, the team is "optimistic" that Maxey will be back before the end of month and his absence shouldn't be dragged out like Joel Embiid's (knee). In the meantime, Kyle Lowry, Jared McCain, and Eric Gordon will all see some added minutes.
Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) is expected to miss multiple weeks due to a right hamstring injury obtained in Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Maxey played through three quarters in Wednesday's game but did not come back for the fourth quarter and was ruled out with hamstring soreness. Philadelphia head coach Nick Nurse initially said Maxey not returning was "precautionary" and didn't seem worried, however today's news shows much more concern. Maxey has carried the Sixers' offense to start the season, averaging 27.6 PPG while Philadelphia's other oft-injured stars Joel Embiid and Paul George fight back from their own injuries. Philadelphia has taken a very cautious approach to re-inserting those two into the lineup and it should be expected they'll take a similar approach with Maxey to maximize their health for the playoffs. In Maxey's absence, expect Kyle Lowry to take the reins as starting point guard. Lowry should be on all fantasy manager's radars and should drive value for them through assists and three point shooting.
