Jalen Suggs Likely Playing On Wednesday

After practicing Tuesday, Orlando Magic guardJalen Suggs(wrist) is now listed as probable for Wednesday's matchup with the Detroit Pistons. Suggs sprained his right wrist in the second quarter on Sunday versus the Nets and missed the rest of the game. Orlando is already withoutMoritz Wagner(knee),Paolo Banchero(oblique), andFranz Wagner(oblique), so having Suggs available would provide some much-needed relief. If the 23-year-old cannot go, Tristan Da Silva,Goga Bitadze, andWendell Carter will be in line to see an increase in scoring opportunities.

Jalen Suggs Injured On Sunday Afternoon

Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (wrist) didn't return to Sunday's narrow win over the Nets. The 23-year-old logged only 13 minutes versus Brooklyn, finishing with eight points. Fortunately, the Magic don't play again until Wednesday in Detroit. But Orlando is already without Moritz Wagner (knee), Paolo Banchero (oblique), and Franz Wagner (oblique), so adding Suggs to the extensive injury list wouldn't enhance the team's chances of climbing the standings in the Eastern Conference. If he doesn't play, Tristan Da Silva, Goga Bitadze, and Wendell Carter Jr. could benefit, with Cole Anthony also in line to see an increase in scoring opportunities.

Paolo Banchero Getting Closer To Return

Orlando Magic power forward Paolo Banchero (oblique) will not suit up for Saturday's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. However, he has been making significant strides toward a return from a core-muscle injury. It's been exactly eight weeks since the Magic forward was diagnosed with a torn right oblique. Before his injury, Banchero averaged 29 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists. This change in status is good news for the Magic, as they are currently 19-13 and in fourth place in the East.

Gary Harris Active On Friday

Orlando Magic guard Gary Harris (hamstring) will be back in the lineup on Friday versus the Knicks. He has been out for 13 games with a left hamstring strain. Harris' addition gives an injury-hit Magic squad an extra body, although it remains to be seen how big of a role the veteran will have in the rotation. Before getting hurt, Harris only averaged 16.6 minutes a night, posting 4.1 points. Trevelin Queen and Cole Anthony might lose minutes to him.

Paolo Banchero Receives New Designation, Remains Out

Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero (reconditioning) has been sidelined since October 30 with a torn oblique, but he's trending in the right direction. While he remains out, he received a new designation on Friday, "Return to competition reconditioning." The star wing hasn't gone through any contact drills yet, but it looks like that should be on the near horizon. He'd be a huge re-addition with Franz Wagner (oblique) still out and Moritz Wagner (knee) out for the season.
