Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac (illness) is currently listed as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Washington Wizards. The big man was forced to sit out of Wednesday's game due to an illness. His absence moved Daniel Theis into a starting role on Wednesday. He finished with nine points, five rebounds, and two assists in 31 minutes of action. He will likely get another chance to start if Zubac is forced to miss another game. Theis is a low-end streaming option, but could be worth a look for desperate fantasy managers.

Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Ben Simmons (leg) has been downgraded to out for Thursday's contest against Atlanta. In an interesting development, Simmons went from not being on the injury report at all to questionable, and now to being listed out for a second consecutive game. Both Dennis Smith Jr. and Lonnie Walker IV had 20-plus minutes off the bench without Simmons on Tuesday against Orlando and look set to benefit again. Meanwhile, Dennis Schroder gets geared up for a third consecutive start, and he's by far the most reliable fantasy option of the three.

Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Ben Simmons (leg) has picked up a questionable tag ahead of Thursday's matchup against Atlanta. He wasn't on the team's initial injury report. Simmons could be out for a second consecutive game after sitting out the tail end of a back-to-back on Tuesday against Orlando. Dennis Schroder and Dennis Smith Jr. should get more action on the Brooklyn backcourt without Simmons, especially with Cam Thomas (ankle) already shelved for the contest.

The Atlanta Hawks have waived veteran guard Patty Mills. The 35-year-old leaves the team after averaging just 10.6 minutes of action across 19 games in 2023-24. The team made the move to covert Trent Forrest's two-way contract into a standard deal. Forrest, who's playing his fourth year in the league, has had a similar role to Mills, featuring in 20 games and averaging 10.5 minutes, but he's a much younger player and could offer a lot more to the team going forward. However, Forrest has yet to make an impact in the NBA, with his career averages standing at 2.8 points and 1.7 assists.

Due to illness, Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac will miss Wednesday's showdown against the Los Angeles Lakers. This absence opens up opportunities for Mason Plumlee and Daniel Theis, who will share playing time at the center position. Zubac has averaged 12.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in 46 regular-season appearances and will be missed against the Clippers city rival. The Lakers rank 22nd in opponent rebounding percentage at (49.1%).
