Ben Simmons Focused On Production This Season

Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons is determined to remind everyone of his abilities when fully healthy. "People forget me as a player when I'm healthy," Simmons said confidently in a recent interview. After being limited to just 15 games last season due to injuries, Simmons says he's "ready to go" following surgery. During Nets Media Day, he emphasized that health is his priority: "It's important just to be healthy. I want to play basketball at a high level and get the most I can out of my body. That's the focus. Money is nice and all that, but I want to play healthy. At the end of the day, I love playing basketball." Fantasy managers should watch his progress closely, as Simmons can be a stat-stuffer if he stays on the court consistently.

Ben Simmons Expected To Be Full Participant In Training Camp

Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Ben Simmons (back) is fully healthy ahead of training camp. "Ben is fully cleared and is a full participant for the start of camp. He is excited to get started," Simmons' agent Bernie Lee told NBA insider Chris Haynes. Simmons had a second back surgery in three years in March, which ended his 2023-24 campaign. He also missed a large chunk at the start of the season, finishing with only 15 appearances. Simmons, a three-time All-Star in 2019-2021, remains an enigmatic player who is naturally gifted in many areas but who can't stay healthy. Hopefully, the story will be different this season.

Ben Simmons Undergoes Another Procedure

Brooklyn Nets utility man Ben Simmons (back) recently underwent a microscopic partial discectomy, the team announced on Thursday. He's already out for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign, and while there isn't a timetable for his return, those within the organization believe he will be ready by training camp. Simmons' latest procedure isn't as complex as the one he had in May 2022. However, it's still not an ideal situation for the 2016 No. 1 overall pick, considering he's played just 59 games in the last three seasons. He finished the season with averages of 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. His 1.8 turnovers per game was the lowest of his career. With this in mind, managers will likely avoid adding Simmons to fantasy rosters heading into next season, although he's worth selecting later than anticipated if he's available.
