Brooklyn Nets guard Keon Johnson (rest) will take the night off on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Johnson has been ever-present for the Nets since Nov. 22, and the team has decided to give him some rest. D'Angelo Russell (ankle) has also been ruled out for Tuesday's contest, leading to many additional playing opportunities for the rest of the backcourt. Reece Beekman, Tyson Etienne, Dariq Whitehead, and Maxwell Lewis could all be involved more in the rotation than usual. The Nets already used Beekman as a starter on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors.

Brooklyn Nets point guard D'Angelo Russell (ankle) will not play in Tuesday's contest against the New Orleans Pelicans. Ever since he returned to Brooklyn, Russell has been in and out of the lineup due to various health issues, and he is currently nursing a right ankle sprain. Reece Beekman has just logged his first career start and may get another opportunity in Tuesday's game. He was impactful at both ends in Sunday's loss to the Toronto Raptors, posting 14 points, four rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (back) will remain on the shelf for Tuesday's meeting with the New Orleans Pelicans. He is struggling to recover from a lower back injury, and with only a few games left in the regular season, it would not be surprising if the Nets go the rest of the way without Johnson. With Johnson sidelined, Trendon Watford is likely to receive a third consecutive start. Watford has averaged 12.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists since moving to the starting unit.

The Nets are limping to the finish line, so Claxton may only make a few more appearances the rest of the way. With Day'Ron Sharpe (knee) and Noah Clowney (ankle) also sidelined, Drew Timme, who has averaged 11.3 and 5.0 rebounds in four professional appearances, could find his way into the starting lineup or at least see enough minutes from off the bench to remain a practical streaming option.
