2024 Team Stats

San Francisco Giants infielder Tyler Fitzgerald has been showing off his pop at the plate over the last few games. On Sunday, Fitzgerald continued his hot stretch with a solo home run in the third inning. It marked the third straight game that Fitzgerald has hit a ball over the wall. Before this, Fitzgerald was mainly only playing against left-handed pitchers since his call-up last month. Possibly, the Giants give him more playing time with him showing an ability to hit right-handed pitching as well.

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Hayden Birdsong was showing off his hit-and-miss stuff during Sunday's outing against the Colorado Rockies. The right-hander struck out 12 batters while allowing two runs in the win. The Rockies only managed to record two hits and two walks while facing Birdsong. The 22-year-old has been solid for the most part during his time in the big leagues. He'll get another start against the Rockies during his next start. That being said, Birdsong looks like he'll be a worthy streaming option for that one.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto and first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. will be out of the starting lineup on Saturday against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies have left-hander Kyle Freeland taking the hill, who has been excellent over his last four starts (1.71 ERA in 26 1/3 innings). Conforto went 0-4 Friday night and will presumably be available off the bench if needed. In his career against Freeland, Conforto only has two singles in eight at-bats, with no home runs, walks, or RBI). Although Conforto has been solid this season versus lefties, hitting .276 with three HR and 10 RBI, the Giants seem content with giving him a breather tonight, but we expect him to be all-systems-go for the series finale on Sunday. Wade went 1-for-5 with a double in Friday's game and is slashing .308/.433/.419 with three home runs and 19 RBI over 65 games. Wilmer Flores is starting at first base and batting fifth while Wade gets a breather.

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Robbie Ray (elbow) tossed 5 1/3 shutout frames on Friday evening in what could be his final minor-league rehab appearance. He allowed just one hit and two free passes. He struck out seven. In his past two rehab starts, the southpaw has looked unhittable, as he has allowed just two hits over his past 10 1/3 frames, tallying 16 total punchouts. Ray has been sidelined since the beginning of last season due to Tommy John surgery but could rejoin the major-league roster any day now. The 32-year-old is worth adding in all leagues, as he is showcasing elite strikeout upside and should have a permanent role in the Giants rotation in the second half.

San Francisco Giants left-hander Robbie Ray (elbow) will throw five innings on Friday in what is expected to be his final minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento. This is your cue to grab Ray off the waiver wire if he's available. The 32-year-old veteran southpaw has yet to make his debut with the Giants in 2024 while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery last year, but if he's able to avoid setbacks on Friday night, he could make his debut for San Fran next week against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers. That wouldn't be a great spot to deploy Ray in fantasy lineups in his first start in the big leagues this year, but Ray's strikeout upside makes him worth rostering in mixed leagues. He led the league in ERA (2.84), innings (193 1/3), strikeouts (248) and WHIP (1.04) in 2021 when he won the American League Cy Young for the Toronto Blue Jays and has five seasons of 200-plus K's in his career.
