Ryan was originally scheduled to start Thursday's series finale against the Baltimore Orioles, but he was scratched due to an illness. The 28-year-old is obviously feeling better now and he'll take his next turn through the rotation this weekend. Although the matchup against the Giants isn't as good as the one against the struggling Orioles would have been, Ryan is still deserving of being in starting fantasy lineups on Saturday. In his seven starts so far in 2025, Ryan has an ERA under 3.00, a 0.90 WHIP, 47 strikeouts and only five walks in 40 innings pitched. He's allowed just one earned run with 19 K's in his last 13 innings pitched.

Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status but expect him to be locked into the starting rotation on Opening Day. Last summer, Ryan was enjoying a breakout season as he posted a 3.60 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP across 135 frames. He struck out 147 batters and held a stellar 4.3 percent walk rate. If cleared for action, Ryan will likely slot in as the No. 2 option behind Pablo Lopez.
