Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (biceps) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting in his customary leadoff spot on Sunday versus the visiting Seattle Mariners and right-hander Bryce Miller. Chisholm was removed from Saturday's game early due to right-biceps tightness, according to manager Skip Schumaker, but apparently it wasn't a very serious injury. Chisholm has dealt with a couple minor injuries of late, but thankfully he hasn't been forced to miss much time and will be available for fantasy managers on Sunday. He's have a solid month of June amid some injuries, as he's hitting .288 (17-for-59) with two home runs, a triple, seven RBI, five walks, two stolen bases and five runs scored in 17 games played. Keep Chisholm in your fantasy lineups in a matchup against Miller, who Chisholm has never faced in his career.
Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (hamstring) is back in center field and is batting leadoff for the Fish in Friday's contest against the visiting Seattle Mariners and right-hander George Kirby. The Marlins scratched Chisholm from Wednesday's lineup due to right-hamstring tightness, but he's feeling better after a scheduled day off on Thursday and is back in the lineup to start the weekend series against the M's. The 26-year-old needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups, even in the tough matchup against Kirby. The native of the Bahamas will bring a seven-game hitting streak into Friday's game. During that streak, he's gone 11-for-23 (.478) with a homer, triple, five RBI, three walks, a steal and three runs scored to raise his season slash line to .266/.333/.446 with 10 homers, 36 RBI and 13 stolen bases.
Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and stolen base in Thursday's loss versus the division rival New York Mets. Chisholm's home run came in top of the seventh inning to give the Marlins a 2-0 lead at the time, but it would not be enough to secure a victory. Chisholm is hitting .254 with 10 homers, 33 RBI and 15 stolen bases on the season and most importantly has maintained his health this season by playing in 67 of 68 games. A healthy Chisholm has shown he can help across the board, but managers also may want to see what the trade market is like as he hasn't over 97 games since the 2021 campaign.
Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. launched his seventh home run of the year in Wednesday's win over the visiting Milwaukee Brewers, helping lift his team to victory. Chisholm wasted no time getting Miami on the board, drilling a leadoff homer to right field off Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta to give them a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Despite the last-place Marlins' struggles, the dynamic 26-year-old slugger has managed to stay healthy and go about his business while slashing .254/.329/.429 with seven round-trippers, 25 RBI, 26 runs scored, and nine stolen bases through 210 plate appearances (50 games) as the engine to Miami's offense. A three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks is on deck starting on Friday. In five games against Arizona in 2023, Chisholm hit a mere .176 (3-for-17) with no extra-base hits and zero RBI.
Miami Marlins outfielders Jazz Chisholm and Jesus Sanchez are not in the starting lineup on Monday against the New York Yankees and left-hander Nestor Cortes. This will be Chisholm's first time on the bench this year after starting each of the club's first 10 contests. The 26-year-old All-Star does have two home runs and eight RBI, but overall he's 7-for-34 (.206) with a stolen base, six runs scored and 11 strikeouts in 42 trips to the plate. Vidal Brujan is starting in center field and batting eighth, while Avisail Garcia is in right field and hitting sixth against Cortes in the series opener. Brujan is hitting .143 in seven career at-bats versus Cortes, while Garcia doesn't have a hit in his only career at-bat against the crafty southpaw.
