New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton is having a memorable 2024 postseason for the Yankees at the plate. Stanton went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and two strikeouts in the team's 8-6 win in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians on Friday night. With the mammoth homer, Stanton became just the second-ever Yankees player in history to hit four home runs in multiple postseasons, joining Mr. October Reggie Jackson in the record books. The 34-year-old DH heads into Game 5 on Saturday in Cleveland with a .300 average (9-for-30) with four homers, two doubles, nine RBI, five walks, a stolen base and five runs scored in eight playoff starts this October. Stanton's three-run bomb on Friday night came in the sixth inning off of right-hander Cade Smith and put the Yankees up 6-2 at the time.
New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton stayed hot on Friday, swatting a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning of Game 3 of the ALCS. Stanton's homer appeared to put the Yanks in the win column until Jhonkensy Noel and David Fry had other ideas. Still, Stanton has been performing at an extremely high level this playoffs, something that Yankee fans love to see. He is now 8-for-26 (.308) with three homers and six RBI in 26 postseason at-bats. If the veteran slugger keeps it up, it will be hard to stop this Yankees lineup from scoring at will.
New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton hit a 439-foot solo home run in Monday's series-opening 5-2 win over the Guardians, his second of this postseason. The 34-year-old finished the game 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored. After going 0-for-4 in Game 1 versus the Royals in the ALDS, the 5x All-Star has collected at least one hit in each of the last four games, going 7-for-19 (.368) overall in the postseason including two doubles, two home runs, five RBI, three runs scored, a stolen base, and a 3:2 BB:K. The veteran will look to keep rolling in Tuesday's matchup versus Tanner Bibee, who Stanton has yet to face in his career to this point.
New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton went 3-for-5 in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Royals, getting the scoring going with an RBI double in the fourth inning that put the Yankees up 1-0, and later hit a go-ahead solo home run in the eighth that proved to be the eventual game-winner. The 34-year-old even stole a base in the contest after not logging a steal during the entire regular season (114 games). With Aaron Judge just 1-for-11 through the first three games of the series, Stanton and Juan Soto have been able to pick up the slack in the middle of the Yankee lineup. They'll look to close out the series on Thursday in Kansas City.
New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton had a big game on Thursday, hitting a three-run double and a solo homer en route to a 10-1 mashing of the Baltimore Orioles. Stanton finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI. The hulking slugger isn't the same hitter he used to be, but he is still productive and hits the ball as hard as ever. His 162-game pace is 39 homers and 104 RBI, so on a per-game level he is great for fantasy. Obviously he isn't going to stay healthy for a full year, but it's worth having him for when he is on the field.
