Toronto Blue Jays pitching prospect Adam Macko (knee) was optioned to Triple-A on Monday. The 24-year-old underwent arthroscopic surgery in February to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee. As a result, the southpaw is unlikely to be cleared for action early in the season. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression, but he currently does not have a definite timetable. Last season, the 24-year-old spent most of the campaign with Double-A New Hampshire and held a 4.87 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP. Across 81 1/2 innings, he tallied 90 punchouts and served up 30 free passes. He received a brief look at Triple-A and logged only three innings of work. When the former seventh-round selection is cleared to return, he will likely open the season with Double-A.

Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Adam Macko (knee) had arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Thursday morning, according to manager John Schneider. "We'll kind of see the timeline when he gets back here and recovered a little bit," Schneider said. Macko torn the meniscus in his left knee early in training camp and now does not have a timetable for a return. The 24-year-old southpaw will certainly open the 2025 regular season on the injured list and could have to miss more than a month of action before he's likely assigned to Triple-A Buffalo. The former seventh-round pick by the Seattle Mariners in 2019 pitched at Single-A Dunedin, Double-A New Hampshire and Buffalo in 2024, going a combined 5-5 with a 4.63 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 105:35 K:BB in 93 1/3 frames over 20 starts. Fantasy managers can avoid Macko in 2025.

Toronto Blue Jays pitching prospect Adam Macko (knee) suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee. Shi Davidi of SportsNet noted that the 24-year-old felt something during his weekend bullpen session. He is set to have a further evaluation on Wednesday but is looking at a "probable surgery." The 24-year-old spent most of the 2024 campaign at the Double-A level but was given a brief taste of Triple-A. Across 81 1/3 innings at Double-A New Hampshire, the southpaw held a 4.87 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. He tallied 90 punchouts and served up 30 walks. However, during his first three innings at the Triple-A level, Macko allowed three earned runs. When Macko does return to action, fantasy managers should expect him to get his first full look at Triple-A.
