Spencer Jones Blasts Two More Home Runs Saturday

New York Yankees prospect Spencer Jones hit a pair of home runs on Saturday in a 9-1 Spring Breakout win over the Blue Jays' prospects. The Yankees' second-ranked prospect per MLB.com went 3-for-4 on the day with four RBI and two runs scored. Jones has been showcasing his prodigious power all spring, including a majestic, towering 470-foot blast in an earlier game. While the youngster isn't on the redraft radar, he should steadily be moving up dynasty ranks as it appears he has the makings to be one of the league's star players. Standing at 6'6" he's already been called the "left-handed Aaron Judge," so make sure to keep tabs on him. His MLB ETA is 2025, however, per MLB.com.

Giancarlo Stanton Crushes First Home Run Of Spring

New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton clobbered his first home run of the spring on Saturday in a 10-9 Grapefruit League win over the Blue Jays. The 34-year-old demolished a 1-0 fastball from Jays pitcher Paolo Espino and finished the day 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a run scored. It took Stanton 25 at-bats to hit his first homer and he's batting just .250 (7-for-28) in ten spring games, but at least he's healthy after missing 61 games last season. As long as he's in the lineup he should be a viable source of power and is available at the end of most drafts. Currently projected to hit 26 home runs over 104 games this season, if the former MVP can eclipse that number he could be a value.

Hunter Renfroe Hits First Spring Homer On Friday

Kansas City Royals outfielderHunter Renfroe went 1-for-3 with a walk and hit his first home run of spring training on Friday in an 11-5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. The home run was a welcome development for the 32-year-old veteran, who's having a very underwhelming spring after dealing with lower back tightness in February. He's hitting .179 with a .589 OPS in 28 AB this spring. He'll look to improve on a subpar 2023 season, and ATC projects a .244/.306/.437 slash line with 20 HR and 62 RBI. With an ADP of 232.3, Renfroe will likely only be a depth option for managers and is a starting option in deep-league and AL-Only formats.

Austin Riley Having A Modest Spring

Atlanta Braves third basemanAustin Riley is having an underwhelming spring by his standards. The 26-year-old is slashing .257/.297/.429 with just two homers and four RBI in 35 AB. Though his spring has been subpar, Riley is still expected to be very important to fantasy managers' lineups, as he currently has a 22.3 ADP. The projections at ATC expect Riley to perform very similarly to his 2023 season with a .279/.349/.532 slash line with 38 HR and 103 RBI. Braves fans and fantasy managers shouldn't expect Riley's spring training results to continue in the regular season, but a couple more Austin Riley-like games to finish spring training would be a welcome sight. He is a surefire top-20 pick and one of the most dependable third-base options heading into 2024 fantasy drafts.

Corbin Carroll Having Mixed Results In Spring Training

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielderCorbin Carrollis having a subpar spring based on the standard he set for himself en route to being named the 2023 NL Rookie of the Year. Carroll is averaging .292 but lacks power numbers, accumulating just a .702 OPS without any HR and just 3 RBI in 48 PA. Fantasy managers don't appear to be worried, as Carroll currently has an ADP of 6.7 and will be a top 10 overall option in 2024. ATC projects a .278/.359/.490 slash line to go along with 23 HR, 76 RBI, and 46 SB for the 23-year-old lefty. After winning NL Rookie of the Year and finishing 5th in the NL MVP race, Carroll will look to lead a Diamondbacks team, hoping to prove their World Series run wasn't a fluke. He is a surefire top-10 pick heading into upcoming fantasy drafts.
