Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 8-3 win against the Seattle Mariners. The 25-year-old blasted his second dinger of the season off Mariners reliever Trent Thornton in the bottom of the seventh to give Boston a four-run lead, and they never looked back. It's been a slow few weeks for Casas, as he's gone 6-for-40 (.150) over his last 11 appearances with one extra-base hit, four RBI, and one run scored. The former first-round pick has been superb against left-handed pitchers this season (5-for-8), but struggled against righties to an abysmal .113 batting average. On the bright side, he's cut his strikeout rate by seven points from 2024. Still, it sits at an undesirable 24.1%.

Athletics outfielder Lawrence Butler was a bright spot for the Athletics in Tuesday's 8-;5 loss to the Rangers. He went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Tuesday's defeat. His 419-foot blast in the third inning brought Oakland within one run before Texas pulled away with a four-run fifth inning. The homer was Butler's third of the season, as he is now slashing .309/.397/.485 in April after a slow start in March. Butler will look to keep things rolling against Rangers right-hander Kumar Rocker on Wednesday.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich starred in Tuesday's 11-3 blowout win over the San Francisco Giants. Yelich went 2-for-5 with a 407-foot grand slam in the sixth inning that broke the game open, giving the Brewers a 9-1 lead. He also doubled in the third, finishing the night with seven total bases and two runs scored. Yelich's hard-hit percentage (52.8%) and average exit velocity (91.9 mph) rank above the 80th percentile this season, suggesting potential for a jump in his numbers as April nears its end. Overall, the 33-year-old is slashing .222/.337/.444 with five home runs, 19 RBI, and five stolen bases across 95 plate appearances in 2025. Yelich and the Brewers will look to stay hot against Logan Webb on Wednesday.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Tommy Edman continued his early-season power surge Tuesday, launching a three-run home run in the first inning of Tuesday's 11-10 extra-inning loss to the Chicago Cubs. It was Edman's eighth home run of the season, already surpassing his total of six from last year. He also added a sacrifice fly and a single, finishing 2-for-4 with four RBI on the night. MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports that if New York Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez (hand) gets through his final minor-league rehab game with Double-A Binghamton on Wednesday without issue, he could come off the 10-day injured list to make his season debut on Friday against the division-rival Washington Nationals. In his nine rehab games down on the farm, the 23-year-old backstop has gone 7-for-35 with a home run. Alvarez is making his return from hamate surgery on his left field, and while the Met will probably ease him back in behind the dish when he returns to the active, there's no debate that he's their full-time starter when he's healthy. The Venezuelan catcher also dealt with injuries last year and played in only 100 games, but he hit 25 home runs and drove in 63 in 2023 and has high-end power at the position. Luis Torrens will return to backup duties when Alvarez makes his 2025 debut.
