The Atlanta Braves announced on Tuesday that they selected the contract of right-hander Nathan Wiles to the major-league roster and released right-hander Amos Willingham in a corresponding move. The Braves also optioned right-hander Michael Peterson to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday night. In what will be his MLB debut, Wiles could be used as the team's bulk reliever following an unnamed opener on Tuesday at Truist Park against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. Atlanta is having to pivot after Tuesday's original scheduled starter, right-hander Spencer Strider (hamstring), landed on the injured list on Monday. The 26-year-old Wiles had a nice 0.64 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 15 strikeouts and five walks in 14 innings over three starts to begin the year at Gwinnett, but fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a deep-sleeper streamer on Tuesday.

Cincinnati Reds infielder/outfielder Spencer Steer will cede starting first base duties to corner infielder Jeimer Candelario on Tuesday. Steer had started the last two games at first for the Reds while Candelario was on the bench. Neither player has been very productive thus far, with Steer registering a .195 wOBA and 14 wRC+ over 70 plate appearances (PA), while Candelario has a .221 wOBA and 31 wRC+ over 70 PA. The switch-hitting Candelario will go up against the Marlins' RHP Edward Cabrera on Tuesday in Miami, with the 31-year-old going 3-for-4 with a double, home run, and no strikeouts in his career versus the righty. Despite his struggles this season, that type of matchup history could make Candelario a viable DFS play for this contest.

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Lane Thomas will be placed on the 10-day IL with a bone bruise in his right wrist. The 29-year-old missed a week earlier this month after getting hit by a pitch and was 2-for-15 since his returnto the lineup on April 15. The right-handed hitter was off to a poorstart to the season as it was, slashing .156/.188/.178 with no homeruns and one stolen base over 13 games, registering a .168 wOBA and a wRC+ of 3. Coming off a 15-home run and 32-stolen base campaign in 2024, fantasy managers werehoping for some cross-category production from the seven-year pro, but those hopes will be put on hold for now, and hopefully,he can get going once he returns. Infield prospect Will Wilson was recalled from Triple-A and will make his major leaguedebut whenever he makes his first appearance in a game.

Miami Marlins catcher Agustin Ramirez will get another start behind the dish on Tuesday and will bat cleanup. The 23-year-old made his MLB debut on Monday and went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and a stolen base. The double registered at 110.4 mph off the bat, displaying the power that the 6-foot-1 backstop brings to the table, and the stolen base made good on the baserunning prowess he's shown during his time in the minors. Liam Hicks will sit for the third straight game and could become the backup to Ramirez if the latter continues to hit. Ramirez is worth adding in most leagues given his stolen-base potential at the catcher position, and his dual eligibility at both C and 1B on Yahoo! provides some added fantasy appeal.

Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) is back in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday for Game 2 of their series against the visiting San Diego Padres at Comerica Park. Carpenter is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff against Padres right-hander Nick Pivetta. The 27-year-old Carpenter was pulled from Sunday's game with right-hamstring soreness and was also held out of Monday's win over the Padres, but he's back in there now, and fantasy managers should return him to their starting lineups. He has never faced Pivetta in his career, but he's been producing regularly for his fantasy managers in the early portion of the 2025 season, slashing .315/.338/.562 with an .899 OPS, five home runs, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in 73 at-bats. Carpenter will bring a modest five-game hitting streak into Tuesday's contest against SD.
