Leodalis De Vries Hits First High-A Home Run

San Diego Padres infield prospect Leodalis De Vries went 1-for-4 with a home run during Thursday's contest against High-A Lake County. This was his first long ball at the High-A level. Last summer, De Vries spent his first professional campaign with Low-A Lake Elsinore. Across 75 games, De Vries held a .237/.361/.441 slash line with 22 doubles and 11 home runs. He swiped 13 bags, tallied 38 RBI, and scored 63 runs. De Vries was able to earn a spot with High-A at the start of the 2025 season. Before Thursday's contest, De Vries held a .200/.273/.267 line with just one extra-base hit across his first eight contests of the campaign. Fantasy managers should monitor De Vries' production at High-A as Thursday's long ball could prove him much-needed momentum. He will likely remain with High-A through most of the season.

Oswaldo Cabrera Homers Thursday

New York Yankees third baseman Oswaldo Cabrera went 2-for-3 with a homer, a walk, and two runs scored in a 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. Cabrera launched a solo homer off Tampa starter Taj Bradley in the fifth inning to cut the Rays' lead to 3-2. The veteran infielder has been productive in a part-time role in the early portion of the season, hitting .308 with one homer, six runs, and five RBI across 39 at-bats. Despite his solid batting average, Cabrera isn't providing much power while hitting at the bottom of the team's lineup most days.

Tommy Kahnle Picks Up Save Thursday

Detroit Tigers right-hander Tommy Kahnle picked up the save in a 6-1 win over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday. Kahnle tossed two scoreless innings while not allowing a baserunner and failing to record a strikeout to preserve the win. The veteran reliever has been productive at the back of the Detroit bullpen this season, converting all three of his save chances while posting a 1.29 ERA, 0.43 WHIP, and five strikeouts over seven innings of work. The Tigers opened the season with a ninth-inning committee, but it appears that Kahnle has emerged as the favorite for the ninth-inning role moving forward.

Demetrio Crisantes Hits First Career High-A Long Ball

Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Demetrio Crisantes went 1-for-4 with a home run during Thursday's contest against High-A Spokane. This was Crisantes' first round-tripper at the High-A level. Prior to Thursday's contest, Crisantes was having trouble finding his footing early in the campaign. Through his first 10 games with High-A Hillsboro, Crisantes posted a modest .171/.354/.200 slash line with just one double. However, he has shown a strong eye at the plate, holding an 11:6 BB:K. Last summer, Crisantes spent time at the Rookie level before making his Low-A debut. In 63 games with Low-A last summer, Crisantes posted a stellar .333/.429/.478 slash line. Fantasy managers should expect Crisantes to spend most of the summer with High-A.

Lawrence Butler Goes Deep, Extends Hitting Streak To Four Games

Athletics outfielder Lawrence Butler went 2-for-5 with a home run to extend his hitting streak to four games on Thursday afternoon during their victory over the Chicago White Sox. In the opening frame, Butler would hit a leadoff double and would eventually score on a Jacob Wilson double. Later in the contest, Butler would hit a solo shot in the fifth inning off Chicago starter Chris Martin. The 24-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign, posting a .296/.390/.451 line with two long balls and six stolen bases. He has generated a strong .355 xwOBA, 92.1 mph average exit velocity, with a 74.1 mph bat speed, which are all above the average marks. Butler remains a must-start option in all formats and is a strong play in DFS on Friday, facing Milwaukee right-hander Chad Patrick.
