Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Joey Bart went 2-for-4 with a triple, a homer, two runs, and two RBI in an 8-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. Bart ripped a two-out bomb in the first inning to give the Pirates an early 1-0 lead over the Cardinals on a blast that traveled 411 feet with an exit velocity of 106.2 MPH. The veteran catcher is off to a quiet start in 2025 with that being his first homer of the campaign. Bart hit a career-high 13 homers in just 253 at-bats in 2024, his first season with the Pirates. If he can show some more consistency at the plate, Bart could emerge as a quality fantasy catcher moving forward.

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve went 1-for-3 with a homer, a walk, two runs, and a stolen base in a 4-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Monday. Altuve ripped a solo homer off Seattle starter Logan Gilbert in the sixth inning, a shot that traveled 402 feet with an exit velocity of 107 MPH. The veteran is off to a fast start in 2025, hitting .357 with three homers, nine runs, five RBI, and two steals across 42 at-bats. Altuve isn't the top fantasy asset he was earlier in his career but he is still worth a start in favorable matchups moving forward.

Washington Nationals right-hander Kyle Finnegan pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings to preserve a 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. Finnegan struck out two while allowing one walk and two hits to earn his fourth save in as many chances this season. The veteran has been a consistent force at the back of the Washington bullpen in the early going, allowing just one run through 5 2/3 innings of work while striking out five. He appears to have a firm grip on the closer role in Washington, although it remains to be seen just how many save chances the Nationals afford him this season.

Pittsburgh Pirates infield prospect Termarr Johnson (foot) has started in two of the first three games of the Double-A regular season. Johnson suffered an injury during the Spring Breakout game in March but has not missed much time early in the campaign. Fantasy managers should expect the team to continue to monitor his workload, especially early in the campaign. Johnson tallied one hit in each contest, including a double on Sunday. He has swiped one bag and held a 1:1 BB:K. The former fourth overall pick of the 2022 MLB Draft spent most of the 2024 campaign with High-A Greensboro and posted a .238/.372/.385 line with 13 home runs. He then earned a brief taste of Double-A, where he tallied 11 hits across his first 14 games. Johnson will likely spend most of the 2025 season with Double-A.

San Diego Padres relief pitcher Robert Suarez secured his league-leading fifth save of the year in the Padres' 5-4 win over the Athletics at Sutter Health Park on Monday night. San Diego got off to a fast start with three runs in the first inning, but Suarez entered in the ninth with just a one-run lead. The 34-year-old righty had no issues, though, retiring the side in order with a strikeout of Lawrence Butler along the way. He is a perfect 5-for-5 in save opportunities this season, facing just two batters over the minimum and racking up seven strikeouts. The Padres improved to 9-2 with the win, and Suarez has taken advantage of the team's success to rack up five saves through just 11 games. He only needed nine pitches on Monday, so he should be fresh and ready to roll for San Diego's next save opportunity.
