Justin Wrobleski Sharp In Sunday's Start

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitching prospect Justin Wrobleski tossed three shutout frames on Sunday afternoon against the Athletics. Wrobleski tallied three punchouts and did not allow a baserunner. This was a strong outing for Wrobleski as he is competing for a role on the major league roster. Last season, the 24-year-old made his MLB debut and posted a 5.70 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP across 36 1/3 innings of work. He appeared in eight games and started six of them. In the minor leagues, he spent time at both Double and Triple-A last summer. Across 67 2/3 innings at Double-A, Wrobleski held a strong 3.06 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP. However, when he moved up to Triple-A, he struggled as he posted a higher 5.46 ERA with a 1.86 WHIP. If he continues this strong performance in spring, he could earn a long relief role in the majors.

Xavier Isaac Returns To Starting Lineup

Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac (elbow) returned to the starting lineup on Sunday. Isaac was sidelined during the early part of camp due to soreness in his elbow. The budding star underwent X-rays, and the results came back negative. In this contest, Isaac served as the designated hitter and went 0-for-2 with a walk. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status but seeing him return to the starting lineup suggests this injury was not serious. However, it is still unclear when he will be cleared to play on the defensive side of the game. The 21-year-old has primarily played in the infield in the minor leagues but has begun seeing time in the outfield. Last season, Isaac spent most of the 2024 campaign at High-A and held a strong .287/.281/.535 slash line with 15 home runs. He received a brief taste of Double-A and is expected to open the 2025 season at that level.

Josue De Paula Assigned To Minor-League Camp

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula was sent to minor-league camp. De Paula is one of the top bats in the Dodger system. During his time in spring training, De Paula held a stellar .444/.615/.556 with one double and a 3:2 BB:K ratio. Last season, De Paula spent time with Single and High-A. In 55 games with Single-A Rancho, De Paula held a .279/.388/.447 slash line with 11 doubles, six home runs, and 14 stolen bases. He then earned a taste of High-A where he took a slight step back as he posted a .254/.422/.356 line. There, the 19-year-old only went deep four times across 52 games but showed a strong eye at the plate with a 50:38 BB:K ratio. Dynasty managers should continue to monitor his development as he should have a good opportunity to spend most of the 2025 season at the Double-A level.

Jacob Melton Assigned To Minor-League Camp

Houston Astros outfield prospect Jacob Melton was assigned to minor-league camp. Melton is considered one of the top bats in the Houston system and was approaching his MLB debut. Last season, the former second-round selection received his first extended look at Double-A and even made his Triple-A debut. Across 58 games at Double-A, Melton posted a .248/.406./442 slash line with 10 doubles, 10 home runs, and 19 stolen bases. In his first 47 games with Triple-A Sugar Land, the Oregon State product posted a .260/.314/.405 slash line with 10 doubles, five home runs, and 11 stolen bases. Fantasy managers should monitor his development at the beginning of the season as he could push for an early 2025 MLB debut as he has already received a look at Triple-A. Given Houston's lack of outfield depth, he could receive a promotion early in the 2025 season.

Jackson Jobe Rebounds In Second Start

Detroit Tigers starting pitching prospect Jackson Jobe tossed three innings of one-run ball in his second spring training start on Sunday. He tallied three strikeouts and allowed two hits with no walks. This was a much-improved outing for Jobe as he served up two runs across his first two innings of spring training. The budding ace is considered one of the favorites to land a spot in the starting rotation out of camp. Last season, the 22-year-old made a brief MLB debut and tossed four shutout frames. He spent most of his season at the Double-A level where he held a stellar 1.95 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP across 73 2/3 innings. He tallied 81 punchouts but served up 38 walks. He was only given a nine-inning look at Triple-A before being promoted to the majors. If he continues to perform well in camp, fantasy managers should expect Jobe to begin the 2025 campaign with a job in the starting rotation.
