With a left-hander on the mound for Monday's contest against the hosting Cleveland Guardians, Arizona Diamondbacks outfielders Joc Pederson and Alek Thomas will both get the day off. Ketel Marte will serve as the designated hitter and will bat leadoff, while Jake McCarthy will start in center field and will hit sixth versus Guardians lefty Logan Allen. Kevin Newman draws into the lineup at the keystone and will hit eighth for the Snakes. Pederson only has seen 25 plate appearances against lefties in 2024, so fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised that he's not starting on Monday. Against righties, though, he's been solid, hitting .289 (69-for-239) with 16 of his 17 home runs on the year. Thomas has only been afforded 81 at-bats this year due to injuries and is hitting a lowly .210 (17-for-81) with three homers, 17 RBI and three steals. He's not an option for fantasy managers in mixed leagues.

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is out of the starting lineup on Monday with the team facing left-hander Logan Allen and the hosting Cleveland Guardians. With Carroll starting on the bench, Randal Grichuk will start in right field and will hit fifth against Allen. Carroll has been better in the second half of 2024 but is still hitting just .215/.307/.364 on the year with a .671 OPS, eight home runs, 39 RBI, 20 stolen bases and 72 runs scored in 404 at-bats. Since the All-Star break, he has gone 12-for-51 (.235) with three home runs, four triples, seven RBI, seven walks, 12 strikeouts and two stolen bases in 14 games played. Grichuk represents a low-upside DFS sleeper on Monday, but he is hitting .291 (32-for-110) with a homer and 18 RBI against southpaws on the year. Grichuk also has a hit in his only career at-bat against Allen.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar and second baseman Nolan Gorman are not in the team's lineup on Monday against the New York Mets. The Mets will be sending left-hander Sean Manaea to the mound to start Monday's makeup game, so the left-hitting Nootbaar will take a seat on the bench. The 26-year-old has struggled to put up consistent numbers in 2024, as he is hitting just .234 with seven home runs, 10 doubles, and 23 RBI across 62 games this season. As a result, he isn't necessarily an add in most 12-plus team leagues. Tommy Pham, Alec Burleson, and Victor Scott II will occupy the three outfield spots in Monday's makeup game.

New York Mets infielder Mark Vientos and outfielder Jesse Winker are not in the team's lineup on Monday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Vientos will take a seat for Monday's makeup game after starting 12 straight games at third base. The 24-year-old has produced consistent numbers at the plate over the past few weeks, hitting .269 with six home runs, eight doubles, and 17 RBI in his last 28 games. That makes him a potential add in most 12-plus team leagues moving forward. Vientos should be back in the lineup on Tuesday when the Mets travel to Colorado to take on the Rockies. Jose Iglesias will start at third base in Monday's game.

With the Atlanta Braves placing pitcher Reynaldo Lopez (forearm) on the 15-day injured list, Bryce Elder was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday. Elder has bounced around from the major league roster this season, where he has made 10 appearances with Triple-A Gwinnett and nine appearances with the Braves. The results haven't necessarily been there for the right-hander in the big leagues this year, as he owns a 5.67 ERA and 40 strikeouts across 46 innings pitched. With Lopez landing on the IL, Elder should be in line to take his spot in the rotation. However, he should only be added in deeper formats.
