The Atlanta Braves reinstated left-hander A.J. Minter (hip) from the 15-day injured list on Monday. Minter will return from the injured list after being out since late May with left-hip inflammation. The 30-year-old veteran southpaw will return to a key late-inning setup role in front of closer Raisel Iglesias, so he'll once again have value in fantasy leagues that reward points for holds. In his three minor-league rehab appearances with Triple-A Gwinnett, Minter gave up two runs (one earned) with three strikeouts and two walks in three innings. He does have 36 career saves for Atlanta in his eight seasons in the big leagues, but unless Iglesias goes down with an injury, Minter is unlikely to see many save opps. Before getting hurt, he had a 2.95 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP, one save and a 23:6 K:BB in 21 1/3 relief innings for the Braves.

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve will get the day off on Monday on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays. Altuve will take a seat a day after being ejected in the seventh inning of Sunday's contest against the New York Mets. It's just the All-Star's third day off of the season. The 34-year-old veteran Venezuelan infielder has been excellent yet again for the Astros and fantasy managers in 2024, as he's currently hitting a cool .304/.353/.469 with an .822 OPS, 13 home runs, 37 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 50 runs scored in 339 at-bats after playing in only 90 games in 2023 due to injuries. The eight-time All-Star is a must-start in fantasy anytime he's in the lineup. Mauricio Dubon will replace Altuve at second base on Monday and will bat seventh against Blue Jays rookie right-hander Yariel Rodriguez.

For the third game in a row, Houston Astros rookie outfielder Joey Loperfido finds himself on the bench to start Monday's contest against the hosting Toronto Blue Jays. Loperfido, the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, started six straight games after he was called up from Triple-A Sugar Land recently. However, this will be the 25-year-old's third straight game on the bench after going 5-for-20 (.250) with two doubles, four RBI, a walk and seven strikeouts in eight games since returning to the big leagues. Overall, though, the rookie has hit an impressive .305 (18-for-59) with a homer, nine RBI and two stolen bases in his first 22 games in the big leagues in 2024. We'll surely see more of Loperfido this year in Houston's lineup, but right now he's the odd man out. Trey Cabbage and Chas McCormick are in right field and left field, respectively, on Monday for Houston.

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (hand) was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Houston Astros. Despite getting hit on the hand in Sunday's loss, Guerrero was originally in Toronto's lineup ahead of its series opener, batting third and starting at first base. However, he was later removed from the lineup due to "right fourth/fifth finger discomfort." It appears that the slugging first baseman is still feeling some soreness after getting hit in the hand one day before. The good news is that his X-rays were negative for any fractures, so for now, Guerrero is likely day-to-day.

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Corbin Burnes was activated from the paternity list on the team's off day on Monday. Burnes was placed on the paternity list on Friday, and after spending the weekend series against the visiting Texas Rangers away from the team, he will re-join them ahead of the Orioles' three-game set against the Seattle Mariners, beginning on Tuesday. It remains to be seen which day the right-hander will make his next start, but it is expected to come in one of the three games in Seattle. He will continue to be a must-start option in fantasy, as he currently owns a 2.28 ERA and 99 strikeouts across 17 starts this season.
