There’s a six-game MLB DFS main slate on Monday that starts at 7:05 pm E.T. I plan on doing 3-5 lineups on this slate; check out my cheat sheet and focus below.

In case you missed it, I wrote a tournament primer and a deeper dive into MLB DFS. You can check out both to understand what I do every day and night. I’ll begin with starting pitchers before going through stacks and other favorite plays.

At FTN, we are debuting our MLB DFS optimizer, which is going to be an invaluable resource this season. We will also be in Discord chat almost all the time, so hit us up with questions and make sure to check it out for updated cores from all the pros.

Starting pitchers

(In order of preference)

  1. Yu Darvish
  2. Tyler Mahle
  3. Frankie Montas
  4. Kyle Gibson

With six games on the docket, I feel good about limiting my player pool to four pitchers. Montas and Mahle are a little expensive for my taste, but we have a small slate with better hitting options than pitching. Darvish faces the Dodgers, which is always risky, but he has the highest upside, especially with the Dodgers' injuries. Montas is one of my favorite pitchers given the matchup and recent play while Kyle Gibson is one of my favorite underrated darlings this season. Mahle is priced as an ace, but the matchup works for him as well.

Stacks

Cincinnati Reds

Houston Astros

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Astros and Reds come in as good chalk, especially on a smaller slate. The pitching matchups for both teams just screams to stack them and if doing two lineups, I might do a full stack of each team. My sneaky stack of the night is the Diamondbacks. They’ve been struggling, but the matchup is great for them. I’m not a believer in Brett Anderson, so I’ll be stacking against him.

Good luck!
