One of my favorite things in DFS is the opportunity to try a new outlet. Diversifying where you play is key to building a bankroll. That type of opportunity is exactly what we get today with our new friends at StatHero.
In short, StatHero offers fantasy players two ways to play. A revolutionary DFS Sportsbook, and a fantasy-based survivor pool. The app doesn’t pit players against players, you’re always playing against StatHero. For a more in-depth look at what StatHero has to offer, check out this app review from FTN’s Tyler Loechner and Chris Meaney’s new video breakdown.

Stat Hero NBA picks for tonight
Player prices will fluctuate throughout the day with news, so prices in this article may not reflect what you see on the app when you’re making your lineup in the sportsbook. Make sure you join the #StatHero channel in the FTN Daily Discord. It’s free and you can always tag me with any questions you may have leading up to lock.
Here’s a look at my favorite plays for Tuesday’s slate on StatHero.
StatHero MVP picks (normally $11k and above)
Your MVP will score 1.5x the fantasy points. The pricing on StatHero has been getting much tighter as the real NBA rotations do the same throughout the playoffs. As of this writing, Giannis Antetokounmpo was just upgraded from doubtful to questionable. Him being active would throw a major wrench into builds. I still think he sits, but a midday upgrade is not something that gives me a ton of confidence in that prediction. For our purposes, StatHero is also building like he’s out, and that makes my choice for captain very easy. My two highest projected players with Giannis out are his teammates Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. I chose to ride with Middleton but have no issue with Holiday, who I have projected for 1.5 less fantasy points. Both project much higher than any of the three best Suns players, so I will attack the StatHero lineup with a Suns MVP. If you think Giannis plays, I would slot him in at MVP. You’ll still be able to fill out a lineup pretty comfortably.
Flex picks ($6.5k-$11k range)
There are certainly some useful pieces in this midrange. The upper range of this tier is kind of empty, but it works for our builds. You’ve got Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder here for Phoenix, and I prefer rostering the former if you’ve got the salary. But the two players here that stand out the most to me are the two Milwaukee bigs in Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis. Again, I prefer for the former but it’s not out of the question to roster both.
StatHero sleeper/value picks ($6.4k and below)
Crazy value down here the way things are looking right now. Just in the upper tier of the price range we find rotation players like Cameron Johnson (who is fully recovered from his non-COVID 19 illness), Cameron Payne, P.J. Tucker and Pat Connaughton. Then there are a number of minimum priced players you can slot in who should at least see the floor including Dario Saric, Torrey Craig, Abdel Nader and Bryn Forbes.
