The Best NHL Prop Bets
David Pastrnak Over 3.5 SOG
(-145, DraftKings Sportsbook)
There’s a bit of juice on Pastrnak’s shot prop, and this could move since Tuesday’s episode of DBC, but we don’t see Pastrnak at 3.5 often, so I’m in. I’m also in on Brad Marchand, but I think there’s a better chance Pasta gets four than Marchand gets three. Pastrnak leads all Bruins’ skaters with 17 attempts at 5v5 and 31 attempts at all strengths. Marchand leads in 5v5 shots (10) and all strengths shots (14), but Pastrnak is right behind him with 11 total shots. The Bruins leading goal scorer picked up his second goal of the series in his last game and he had a series-high four shots on goal. He’s also been skating on the first PP again.
Bonus
- Brad Marchand O 2.5 SOG (+115, BetRivers)
- Pavel Zacha Point (-130, DraftKings)
Artturi Lehkonen Over 2.5 SOG
(-114, BetRivers)
We’re going back to Lehkonen, who has been perfect for us through four games of this series against the Winnipeg Jets. He may not get three shots again, but it’s worth finding out. Lehkonen has a goal in all four games, and he’s had at least three shots in each contest. He leads all Colorado skaters and all players in the series with 29 shot attempts and 19 shots. 12 of his 19 shots have come at 5v5, and he’s skating on the first power play as well. I posted two shot prop ladders to consider.
Bonus
- Valeri Nichushkin O 2.5 SOG (-157, BetRivers)
- Artturi Lehkonen Point (-160, DraftKings)
- Nathan MacKinnon 3 SOG, Mikko Rantanen 2 SOG, Valeri Nichushkin 3 SOG, Artturi Lehkonen 3 SOG, Cale Makar 3 SOG, Nikolaj Ehlers 2 SOG, Kyle Connor 2 SOG SGP (+650, Bet365)
- Lehkonen Ladder: 4 SOG +175 .75u, 5 SOG +375 .5u, 6 SOG +750 .25u, 7 SOG +1100 .15u
- Nichushkin Ladder: 4 SOG +150 .75u, 5 SOG +320 .5u, 6 SOG +650 .25u, 7 SOG +1000 .15u
William Nylander O 3.5 SOG +125
(+125, BetMGM)
It sounds like Auston Matthews may miss Tuesday’s game, which should open up more ice time for others. I was on Nylander last night before hearing about Matthews this morning. Auston skated for about five minutes at practice today, before leaving the ice. He’s a GTD. Regardless of his status, I like Nylander. The winger had three shots on three attempts at 5v5 in his return, and he had eight total shot attempts over 22:24. If Matthews is out, Nylander will be the shooter on the power play. I expect a bit of desperation and extra ice time for Toronto’s big boys in a must win game. Nylander skated on the third line in Game 4, he won’t here.
Bonus
- Mitch Marner O 2.5 SOG (+125, BetRivers)
- Max Domi O 1.5 SOG (-157, Bet365)
- Tyler Bertuzzi O 2.5 SOG (+125, BetRivers)
- Joel Edmundson O 1.5 Blocks (-133, Caesars)
- David Pastrnak 3 SOG, William Nylander 3 SOG, John Tavares 3 SOG, Tyler Bertuzzi 2 SOG, Brad Marchand 2 SOG, Mitch Marner 2 SOG SGP (+475, Bet365)
