NHL PrizePicks for March 18

There are plenty of different props to choose from on PrizePicks, and there’s a lot of money to be made. You can pick your choice of CBB, NBA, PGA, MMA, tennis, soccer and more. As you’ll see below, I’ll be focusing on the NHL.

Speaking of “PrizePicks,” it is a creative new way to parlay picks based on expected fantasy point production.

How to play PrizePicks NHL

The format is simple. You pick two, three or four players and predict whether they will go over or under their projected fantasy point total.

When parlaying the players, the larger your parlay, the better the payout:

  • Two-pick entry pays 2.5x (max entry: $400)
  • Three-pick entry pays 5x (max entry: $200)
  • Four-pick entry pays 10x (max entry: $100)

As a bonus offer, there is a “flex play” option if you choose to run a four-man parlay. This will provide some security, as you can earn 1.5x your buy-in if three of your four picks hit.

Below are my top PrizePicks for Thursday’s slate in the NHL. I will be mixing and matching my pick combinations from the pool below, with my favorite combinations also included.

NHL PrizePicks for today

Here's a look at my favorite picks on PrizePicks Thursday.

Kyle Connor OVER 3.5 points

We got the over on Connor Wednesday night as he scored another two goals and put seven pucks on the net. Connor has 16 goals and 92 shots on the season, so he provides a solid floor (you get 0.5 points for a shot on goal). He checks-in with eight goals, 13 points, and 41 shots in his past 11 games. The Oilers rank inside the top 10 in shots, goals, scoring chances and high-danger chances allowed at 5v5 per 60 minutes.

Nick Bjugstad UNDER 2 SOG; Kevin Fiala UNDER 3 SOG

I’m taking the under on Bjugstad and Fiala’s shot props as they have a tough matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. The Avs have allowed the fewest shots and scoring chances at 5v5 per 60 minutes, according to Natural Stat Trick. They’ve also surrendered the fifth-fewest high-danger chances. Minnesota has done a great job at creating offense but mostly from their top line. Bjugstad has zero shots over his past two games and he’s only had more than two shots in one of his past 12 games. He’s surpassed 2.5 shots in seven of his 27 games and was blanked in two games against the Avs this season. Fiala has been held under three shots in five of his past six games, including four straight.

Sidney Crosby OVER 4 points

Crosby has 11 goals and 29 points on the season to go along with 79 shots on goal over his 28 games. He’s picked up at least a point in 20 of his games, and he’s hit the score sheet in seven of his past nine games (5 goals and 14 points). The Devils have coughed up the 11th-most high-danger chances, ninth-most shots, and the 11th-most goals per 60 minutes at 5v5.
