The Best NHL Prop Bets

Roope Hintz Over 2.5 SOG

(-125, BetRivers)

Hintz is playing his best hockey of the season, and he’s in a good spot to keep it going as the Montreal Canadiens visit the Dallas Stars. Hintz has four goals in his last two games, and he has eight points over a current six-game point streak. The Stars’ center has at least three shots on goal in each of his last three games and four of his last five. Dallas has scored 13 goals in their past two games, and they’ve won seven of their past nine games. They’ve scored at least four goals in six of those wins. Hintz has an impressive 10 goals and 19 points in 16 home games this season, compared to five goals and 14 points in 17 road games. Those numbers are still good, but he’s a touch better at home where he’s averaging 17:46 per game compared to 16:19 on the road. The Habs have lost three straight games and they’ve been outscored 13-7 over that span. Montreal has lost four straight games in Dallas, and they’ve allowed 17 goals in those defeats. Montreal has one win since 2017 in Dallas.

Bonus

  • Stars -1.5 (-110, BetMGM)
  • Roope Hintz Point (-166, BetMGM)
  • Joe Pavelski Assist (+125, BetMGM)
  • Matt Duchene Point (-150, DraftKings)
  • Tyler Seguin Point (-120, DraftKings)
  • Roope Hintz Goal (+175, FanDuel)
  • Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson Points SGP (+190, Bet365)
  • Matt Duchene, Tyler Seguin, Mason Marchment Points SGP (+375, Bet365)
  • Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson 2 Points SGP (+2200, Bet365)

Carter Verhaeghe Point

(-135, DraftKings Sportsbook)

There’s a bit of juice on this prop, but I’ll take this every time when it comes to Carter Verhaeghe, no matter the matchup. Verhaeghe is a volume shooter who already has 18 goals in 36 games. He’s chipped in with 14 assists as well so he’s just under a point per game on the season. The winger has three goals and three multipoint games over his past four matchups. Verhaeghe was recently placed on the top power play, which is great for his outlook considering the Arizona Coyotes have a bottom 10 penalty kill. The Coyotes have rattled off six wins in their last seven games, but this Panthers team enters on a four-game winning streak. As discussed on Dangle Bet Celly this week, we like them to go on a run in the second half of the NHL season.

Bonus

  • Sam Reinhart O 2.5 SOG (-117, BetRivers)
  • Sam Bennett O 2.5 SOG (-130, DraftKings)
  • Carter Verhaeghe Goal (+165, FanDuel)
  • Aleksander Barkov, Sam Reinhart Points SGP (+105, Bet365)
  • Matthew Tkachuk, Carter Verhaeghe Points SGP (+120, Bet365)

Charlie Coyle Point

(-120, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Charlie Coyle is on a bit of a heater right now, and I think we should try and take advantage of it. His point prop has been at a respectable price over his last few games, and he checks in riding a four-game point streak. He has three goals and five points over that span. The loss of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci in the offseason has resulted in a career high 17:52 for Coyle. His 13 goals this season are just three behind what he had last year, and five away from matching his career high from 2016-17 with the Minnesota Wild. Columbus has a league-high 3.12 xGA/60 at 5v5 over the last month, according to Natural Stat Trick. Over that span, they rank in the top five in shot attempts, shots, scoring chances and high-danger chances allowed at 5v5/60. This new look line of Coyle, Brad Marchand and Jake DeBrusk has been sneaky good of late.

Bonus

J.T. Compher Point

(-130, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Compher has a solid chance of extending his point streak to four games tonight as his Red Wings have a date with the San Jose Sharks. The former Av has logged at least 21 minutes of action in five of his past eight games since returning to the lineup. He has points in four of his past five games, which is going to happen when you play alongside Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat. The Red Wings and Sharks combined for 11 goals when they played each other on December 7th. We’ve seen at least six goals in 13 of Detroit’s last 16 games.

Bonus

  • J.T. Compher Assist (+125, BetMGM)
  • David Perron Point (+124, DraftKings)
  • Mikael Granlund Point (130, DraftKings)
  • Patrick Kane & Alex DeBrincat Points SGP (+120, Bet365)
