As the fantasy football season rolls on, situations change quickly week to week. Whether injuries, totals, gamescripts, etc. the NFL landscape is constantly evolving. To help diagnose those changes weekly for fantasy football, I’ll highlight them using our amazing NFL Splits tool.
J.D. McKissic, RB, Washington Football Team
If Antonio Gibson is out again, McKissic is going to be a strong play. He quietly got 22 touches last week and now gets to face a defense that’s 29th in DVOA versus pass-catching running backs. Carolina has allowed the sixth-most receptions (82) and seen the 10th-most targets (101) to opposing running backs. If Gibson sits, McKissic can pay off his $6,400 price tag on DraftKings.
David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears
Montgomery’s production has soared as the temperatures have dropped. With Mitchell Trubisky, Montgomery has seen his numbers spike across the board while scoring 20.6 DraftKings points per game. Jacksonville offers a fantastic matchup for him to keep the train rolling. Over the last three weeks, the Jaguars have allowed the eighth-highest yards per carry (4.8). This run defense is ranked 20th in second-level yards and 27th in open field yards allowed. It’s not time to hop off the locomotive. Stand in line and purchase another ticket.
Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts
As highlighted in my five stats to know article for Week 16, Taylor is in a sneaky good spot here. Taylor has been a different back since Week 11. In his last four games, Taylor is running decisively and with elusiveness. Taylor has been crushing to the tune of 22.7 DraftKings points per game over that span. Don’t overlook Taylor to pile up a fifth consecutive solid stat line.
Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
It only took nine games of Sanders balling out and a quarterback change for Doug Pederson to finally turn this backfield over to him. With Hurts, Sanders has the rushing role on lockdown. Now he gets a run defense that’s ranked 32nd in adjusted line yards and 29th in second-level yards allowed. Sanders can have a similar point total (32.6) this week that he totaled versus the Saints.
