NBA Best Bets Today (April 20, 2025)
Kristaps Porziņģis 5+ First-Quarter Points
-145, Bet365
Bet by Sam Choudhury
Kristaps Porziņģis has scored at least 5 points in the first quarter in 29 out of 42 (69%) games, averaging 6.2 points on 4.4 shots. He’s been much more efficient at home, scoring no less than six points in the first quarter in 12 out of 17 (70.6%) games, averaging 6.2 points on 4.1. Although Porziņģis has been under this mark in three consecutive games, much of that can be attributed to poor shooting, attempting five and six shots in the last two first quarter of the regular season. Boston had been resting players to close out the regular season, but Porziņģis has been significantly better with the team at full strength, scoring 5-plus first-quarter points in 15 out of 18 (83.3%) games with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Al Horford and Sam Hauser all available, missing that mark only once in seven games at home, averaging 7.2 points on 4.4 shots. Orlando allows the fewest points to opposing centers, however, Porzingis has seven and 11 first-quarter points in both career games against the Magic with Tatum and Jrue Holiday active, averaging 9.0 points on 10.3 shots.
Kel’el Ware Over 6.5 Rebounds
-140, Bet365
Bet by Sam Choudhury
Kel’lel Ware has at least 7 rebounds in 38 out of 66 (57.6%) games, averaging 7.4 rebounds per game. He’s been significantly better with Davion Mitchell, Duncan Robinson and Haywood Highsmith all available, recording seven-plus rebounds in 14 out of 19 (73.7%) games, averaging 9.1 rebounds within that sample. Ware has also seen his playing time tick up in the postseason, grabbing eight-plus boards in 22-plus minutes in both Play-In Tournament games. When logging more than 20 minutes, Ware has cleared his 6.5 rebounds prop in 30 out of 38 (78.9%) games, including each of the last six, averaging 9.8 rebounds per game and 10.1 rebounds on the road. With Mitchell, Robinson and Highsmith active, and exceeding 20 minutes, Ware has no less than seven rebounds in 13 out of 14 (92.9%) games, including each of the last nine, clearing that mark in all four games on the road, averaging 10.4 rebounds within that sample. Although Ware only had four rebounds in his only game against Cleveland (Jan. 29th) he still saw 10 chances, while playing nearly 30 minutes (29). The team also looked a lot different than before the acquisition of Mitchell and Andrew Wiggins before the deadline.
MIA @ CLE SGP: Andrew Wiggins 2+ Assists & Evan Mobley 15+ Points
-145, Fanatics
Bet by Sam Choudhury
Andrew Wiggins 2+ Assists
Andrew Wiggins has at least 2 assists in 46 out of 62 (74.2%) games, including each of the last eight, averaging 2.7 assists per game. He’s taken on a much bigger role as a facilitator since being traded to Miami, recording two-plus assists in 15 out of 19 (78.9%) and three-plus assists in 14 games, including each of the last eight, averaging 3.5 assists during that span. He had a season-high 8 assists the last time out, in the final game of the Play-In Tournament, and is set up for another big day as a distributor, facing a Cleveland team allowing the 10th-most assists to opposing small forwards. It’s also a revenge game for Wiggins, who has no less than two assists in each of the last three games against his former team despite playing no more than 29 minutes in either outing, averaging 2.3 assists on 4.7 potential assists within that sample.
Evan Mobley 15+ Points
Evan Mobley has scored at least 15 points in 53 out of 71 (74.6%) games, including each of the last four, averaging 18.5 points on 12.8 shots. He’s been much more consistent at home, scoring 15-plus points in 27 out of 35 (77.1%). Mobley has also seen a significant uptick in usage since acquiring De’Andre Hunter and with Max Strus available, scoring no less than 16 points in 17 out of 21 (80.9%), missing that mark only once in eight games at home, averaging 18.7 points on 13.3 shots and 19.3 points on 14.3 shots in Cleveland. Against Miami, Mobley has scored 15 or more points in seven out of eight career head-to-head meetings playing more than 28 minutes, including each of six, averaging 16.5 points on 11.8 shots. He attempted only 10 shots in his first and only game against the Heat with Hunter last month (March 5) but still scored 16 points while shooting 70% from the field.
