Many folks have tried to make sense of dynasty fantasy football by developing a process and finding their edge. How you think about building and perfecting that process is up to you; there are endless options for creating a process: watching games, watching film, listening to podcasts, fighting for your life in spreadsheets. If it works for you, do it.
For me? Everything begins and ends with good ranks and tiers. Ranking will never be the skeleton key to winning your league, but it can be that edge you need to take you to the next level.
Let us set the stage and give some perspective. This is a weaker quarterback class, make no mistake. The top guys in this class would find themselves next to Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix in the 2024 class. You may have been in Nix, but I wasn’t. Your favorite analyst likely wasn’t either.
In the bigger picture, the top three quarterbacks in this class are Tier 3, maybe Tier 2 quarterbacks. It’s not the best year to need a QB, and it’s unlikely any of these 2025 rookies will help you win a championship, but we still gotta rank them.
Let’s kick things off at the top. I have a top three who are in the first tier for the 2025 class and set themselves apart from the rest. The drop from Tier 1 to Tier 2 is massive. Let’s dig in.
Dynasty Rookie Rankings for the 2025 NFL Draft: Quarterback
Tier 1
1. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

Jaxson Dart has been my guy in this class since long before it was cool. Showing out at the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine, he is now getting the eyes and attention he deserves. With good size at 6-foot-2 and 223 pounds and above-average athleticism, all this dude did was put up numbers in college.
I love seeing a quarterback make an impact as a sophomore and continue progressing throughout his college career, and Dart did just that. In his senior season, he not only averaged 329 passing yards per game but also did so with a 69% completion percentage, showing off that beautiful touch he developed over the years. Unlike the others in this tier, he can run. He’s not a game-breaker on the ground, but 38 rushing yards per game shows he can contribute. It’s something we need from our fantasy quarterbacks. He showed enough in college to contribute a rushing floor in the NFL.
No single statistic is going to ever tell you if a player will succeed at the next level, but if there were one, it would be adjusted yards per attempt. We generally want this number to be above 9.0 yards per attempt, and Dart hit this threshold with 9.1.
He is a quicker processor than he is given credit for and can get through his progressions. He can be more disciplined when staying in his pocket and waiting for the play to unfold, but you can teach that. There is much here to like, and NFL scouts have and will come around. Dart sneaks into the top 20 come draft day.
2. Cam Ward, Miami
As someone who plays college fantasy football and Campus to Canton, I have been aware of Cam Ward for the better part of the decade. I have watched this guy go from an intriguing FCS prospect to a Heisman hopeful who many are locking into the No. 1 spot in the 2025 NFL Draft. He deserves to be in the conversation for No. 1 overall and top-ranked quarterback, but he falls short of this spot for a few reasons.
