WNBA DFS

It’s Tuesday, and that means we have a larger WNBA DFS slate on our hands. It’s a four-gamer featuring some of the better teams in the league. The pricing is busted on both sites but especially over on DraftKings where I think leaving salary might actually be optimal.

In this breakdown, I will be highlighting my top plays at the guard and forward positions while also listing a three-player core for both FanDuel and DraftKings. In addition to this, I will talk about any soft PrizePicks lines on the board that we can take advantage of, which will increase our chances of a profitable evening. Let’s dive in.

Vegas Odds

Team Odds Team Odds Total
Phoenix +310 Chicago -410 (-9) 166
Washington -335 (-7.5) Indiana +260 164.5
Connecticut +155 Las Vegas -180 (-4) 167.5
Dallas +100 Los Angeles -120 (-1) 169

Guards

Chennedy Carter, Los Angeles ($5.1k DK/$4.5k FD)

The last Sparks slate went great for us as Carter was only rostered by roughly 16% of the field despite being announced as a starter with Jordin Canada being ruled out. As we head into Tuesday’s game, Canada and even Lexie Brown are both listed as questionable. This means Carter will be a lock and load once again if either of them has to sit. Unfortunately, we will have company this time as I expect a lot more people to roster her this time. She played 29 minutes during her first start of the season and scored 20 points while adding 6 boards and 4 dimes. We know Carter is capable of this kind of production from her time in Atlanta but Derek Fisher in his infinite wisdom continues to limit her playing time unless forced to do otherwise because of injuries. Carter has one of the highest usage rates on the team at nearly 30% so she can obliterate these prices if given 20-plus minutes.

Kahleah Copper, Chicago ($6.4k DK/$6.2k FD)

Since returning from overseas obligations, Copper hasn’t been putting up the numbers we are accustomed to seeing from her but I’m not ready to hit the panic button just yet. Copper was the catalyst for the Sky winning the title last year and won the Finals MVP award because of it. She also dominated the most competitive leagues overseas so it’s really just a matter of building chemistry with her Chicago teammates again. She is basically a must play for me at her DK price but not nearly as appealing over on FD. She has played 27, 35 and 30 minutes in her first three games so the playing time is obviously there. The former finals MVP will be breaking the slate soon enough and I want to make sure I have plenty of exposure when it happens.

Additional GPP/MME Targets

Diamond DeShields, Phoenix — I hate questioning the effort of a team, but it seems the Mercury players are barely trying. There are clearly some tough situations surrounding the team as Britney Griner continues to be held in Russia and the team deals with personal beef between their star guards. One player who isn’t lacking effort is Diamond DeShields. She was the only one on the court last game for the Mercury that played hard in the fourth quarter, and she ended up dropping over 40 fantasy points. She has actually scored 37-plus fantasy points in back-to-back games now and will be facing her former team the Chicago Sky here — the revenge narrative is in full effect.

Kate Lou Samuelson, Los Angeles — With the Sparks game being last on the slate, we will have to monitor the injury news closely. If Canada and Brown play, it would lower Carter’s viability and Samuelson becomes a safe pivot. She has found her groove recently and has scored 20-plus fantasy points in three straight contests while playing roughly 30 minutes per gameduring that same stretch.

Allisha Gray, Dallas — The value at guard could lead to some solid leverage opportunities with the spend up options at the position. With the industry typically gravitating towards Arike Ogunbowale due to her high volume, I personally like zagging towards her teammate Allisha Gray. She contributes in all stats and has a sneaky high floor because of her stat-stuffing ability.

Kennedy Burke, Washington — At least 19 minutes in three straight games and 20-plus fantasy points in four of her first five played.

Forwards

Elena Delle Donne, Washington ($10.4k DK/$8k FD)

The Mystics are being very cautious with EDD and resting her periodically but she happens to be playing here, and it’s a very tasty matchup. The Fever are an improving team but they’re still giving up huge fantasy scores to opposing players and EDD hammered them in the first game of the season to the tune of 21-9-3 for 41 fantasy points. I’m playing multiple top-tier forwards with all of this value and Delle Donne is a flagship part of all of my builds.

Alyssa Thomas, Connecticut ($10.2k DK/$8.3k FD)

Thomas will likely go overlooked with all of the viable options at forward, but that would be a mistake as she has the highest combination of floor/ceiling in the entire league. Her FPPM number is well over one and she typically only needs about 27-28 minutes to make 3x at this price. She is especially valuable in games that are projected to be close as she will stay on the floor for 33-35 minutes. This game against the Aces could very well be a preview of what we could eventually see in the WNBA finals if these two teams were to make it. As good as Vegas has been this year their defensive pressure in the front court has been lacking at times so don’t be surprised if Thomas drops a 40-burger.

Additional GPP/MME Targets

A’ja WIlson, Las Vegas — It’s a tough matchup against a ridiculously physical Connecticut defense but Wilson has become as matchup proof as they come. In a close victory over Chicago recently she posted a 22-16 double-double and similar production will be needed against the Sun.

Satou Sabally, Dallas — Has been mired in foul trouble since making her season debut 10 days ago but in a blowout loss to the Sun she scored 27.5 fantasy points in 30 minutes of playing time. The $6.2k price tag on DK is still far too cheap for a player that has typically sat around $9k throughout her career. If she can stay on the floor, the production will be there.

Jonquel Jones, Connecticut — Only priced at $9.4k after two straight subpar games. Jones is an elite GPP play with less than 10% of the field expected to roster her.
